ASUK to organize workshop
Kohima, April 20 (MExN): Ao Students’ Union Kohima (ASUK) is organizing a seminar cum workshop on the theme “Ao oshioben aser kaketkeno renlokren” on April 26 at Molu Ki, Merhulietsa, Paramedical, Kohima starting from 10:00 am. In this connection, Imtimeren Tzudir, assistant general secretary of ASUK has requested all the members, students from class VII above of ASUK, parents, and well wishers to attend the programme positively. 

JOK informs
Kohima, April 20 (MExN): The Jotsoma Officers’ Krotho (JOK) during its recent meeting resolved to felicitate the successful candidates of NPSC, allied service and other prominent fields hailing from Jotsoma village coinciding with the observance of its annual meeting during April/May. A release issued by JOK general secretary Kenny Peseyie stated that the meeting also resolved to embark upon social servicing including plantation drive, sanitation programme etc and also to work in close co-ordination with the Jotsoma Village Council (JVC) and its units. The meeting also nominated area representatives which included Visabiu Peseyie (Dimapur) Rokonito Nakhro (Medziphema), Kekhrielie Nakhro (Jotsoma) and Dr. Konei Nakhro and Seyie Sezo Peseyie (Kohima town).

Assam Rifles seizes illicit liquor
Zunheboto, April 20 (MExN): 5 Assam Rifles seized IMFL being smuggled into Ghukiye Rd on April 16, 6:00 pm at mobile check post and apprehended four accused identified as Atovi Ayemi, Vito Gurung, Ivika Achemi and Vihuka Ayemi. According to a press release issued by the Assam Rifles, 864 bottles of Rum MC Dowell, 686 Kingfisher canned beer and 20 canned Foster beer costing approximately 5 lakhs were recovered from the four.  The apprehended persons along with the recoveries were handed over to Zunheboto Police Station, the note added. 

AR apprehends one with illegal weapon
DIMAPUR, APRIL 20 (MExN): Troops of 29 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 6 Sector Assam Rifles in a search operation in general area Burma Camp apprehended one Thomas Pamei, 60, resident of Tamenglong dist, Manipur. A press release informed that one 7.65 mm pistol with magazine and live rounds were recovered. The apprehended person was handed over to the East Police Station, Dimapur. 

NSUK elects new office bearers
KOLKATA, April 20 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Union Kolkata has informed that a new team of office bearers was elected for the tenure 2014-15 on April 5 at Nagaland House, Shakespeare Sarani, Kolkata. Following are the names and designations of the new elected team: President - Imkalong Jamir, Vice-President - Tongpangmeren Changkija, General Secretary - Lizavi Chishi, Assistant General Secretary - C Thsapise Anar, Finance Secretary - Sentina Lumong, Cultural Secretary - Akumnochet Ao, Games and Sports Secretary - Atokito Chisho, Assistant Games and Sports Secretary - Senwatila Pongen, Information and Statistical Secretary - Jungshimenba Imchen.
