JOK annual meeting on May 10
Kohima, May 1 (MExN): The Jotsoma Officers’ Krotho (JOK) will hold its 10th annual meeting cum felicitation on May 10 at 10:30 AM at Centenary Compound, Jotsoma. Minister for social welfare Kiyaneilie Peseyie will grace the occasion as the chief guest while Kelhouseto Nakhro, deputy secretary NPSC will exhort the gathering. All the members of the Krotho have been requested to bring annual membership fee of Rs. 500 and also one time donation of Rs. 2000 (who have not paid so far). Leaders and elders of Jotsoma village have also been invited to the programme. The function will be chaired by JOK chairman Er. Kevide Nakhro while felicitation to successful candidates of NPSC and others will be led by Kenny Peseyie. Vote of thanks will be proposed by JOK vice president Kenilhusa Senotsu.
KPC election on May 10
KOHIMA, May 1 (MExN): The Kohima Press Club in its general body meeting held on April 30 decided to conduct its election on May 10, 2014 (Saturday) at 11:00 am with Okenjeet Sandhan as the election commissioner. The election will be held for the post of the president, vice president, general secretary, joint secretary and treasurer respectively. In this regard, the KPC general body meeting has also decided that only the current KPC ID Card holders will be eligible to contest or vote. Further, observing that some of the KPC members consecutively miss the meetings called by KPC, the general body meeting has also decided to make it mandatory for all the members to attend the KPC general body meetings and occasions such as KPC Foundation Day and National Press Day and other important events organized by KPC, failing which, review of their memberships will be called.
Measles Surveillance workshop launched in Mon
Mon, May 1 (DIPR): Measles Surveillance workshop was launched on April 29 at the chapel hall, District Hospital, Mon. State level WHO representatives Dr. Sheila Longkumer conducted the workshop in collaboration with Dist IDSP and UIP units. The agendas discussed were:- Objective of the workshop by Dr Supongmenla Walling DPO(RCH&UIP), Measles epidemiology by Dr Temsuyanger DPO (NVBDCP &DSU), Measles control-India, Nagaland, Mon by Dr Sheila LKR (State Surveillance Medical Officer), Measles case management by Dr Temsuyanger and Report on measles by Dr Supongmela Walling. Medical Officers, Nurses, BPMs attended the workshop.
Phek DPDB meeting pre-poned
Phek, May 1 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB, Phek C.M. Tsanglao, IAS has informed to all the members of Phek District Planning and Development Board that the meeting for the month of May 2014 is being pre-poned to May 7 whereas the time and venue will remain the same as usual. Therefore, all the concerned members are requested to take note of the changes and attend the said meeting.
Research scholars informed
Kohima, May 1 (MExN): The Research Scholars’ Forum, Nagaland University, Campus Kohima has informed all the research scholars under Kohima Campus Nagaland University that an urgent general meeting need to be held to fill up the vacant posts of executive body as well as to discuss the issues relating to the present scholar’s forum. In this connection, NURSF-K chairman Visiezolie Yashu directed all the part time/full time research scholars to attend the said meeting on May 7 at 11:00 AM in the campus without fail.

Kohima, May 1 (MExN): The directorate of social welfare is organizing a programme for review of NGOs receiving grant-in-aid from the department of social welfare on May 8 at Zonal Council Hall, Kohima from 9:30 AM onwards. Minister for social welfare Kiyanilie Peseyie will grace the occasion as the chief guest. Keynoter address will be given by social welfare director Khevito T. Shohe.

TWA general meeting held
Kohima, May 1 (MExN): The emergency general meeting of Tribal Farmers’ Association Peren was held at Jalukie Town Council hall on April 29 last. The house in its meeting after minute discussion adopted a resolution to have a general meeting again on May 6 at Jalukie Town Council Hall at 10:00 AM. All the TFA members have been requested to attend the meeting. No complaint shall be entertained/ reconsidered after the meeting, a release received here said.
