NIRMSC Ltd assets transferred to govt 

Kohima, April 21 (MExN): The Industries & Commerce Department Nagaland issued a notification stating that in the interest of public service, the Governor of Nagaland has ordered the transfer of all assets and liabilities of the erstwhile Nagaland Industrial Raw Materials and Supply Corporation (NIRMSC) Ltd. to the Government of Nagaland. According to a DIPR report, the transfer has been initiated in order to facilitate the final closure and striking off of NIRMSC from the Registrar of Companies, North East Region, Guwahati, Assam. 

Mock exercise held in Zunheboto 

Zunheboto, April 21 (MExN): Zunheboto District Disaster Management Authority in collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) 12 Bn and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) conducted a mock exercise on April 20 at Zunheboto. A DIPR report stated that the Deputy Commissioner and Chairman DDMA Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali said the public should not panic in any eventuality of actual disaster the SDRF and public should work together and that we should be prepared as our state is in a high seismic zone, it is the collective work and peoples participation that is important, and timely response is very important. The mock exercise simulated an 8.5 magnitude earthquake in the district. The exercise was done at the DC office complex and Cornerstone Higher Secondary School to test the government’s preparedness to respond to and manage impending disasters.

12th Angami Catholic Union convention 

Kohima, April 21 (MExN): The 12th convention of Angami Catholic Union (ACU) is set to begin from April 22 evening at the Christ King Church in Kohima. The convention will be held under the theme “Eucharist the source and summit of Christian life”. The convention will begin with the introductory session to be graced by Rev. Fr. Dr. George Pezalhoukho Rino, director of St. Joseph’s college men’s hostel as the speaker. Thousands of Catholics from the Angami tribe are expected to be part of the three day convention.

CM to inaugurate Hydrology Project 
Convention Centre in Dimapur 

Dimapur, April 21 (MExN): Inauguration of Hydrology Project Convention Centre (HPCC) cum Commissioning of Automatic Weather Station (AWS) and Piezometer will be held at EE Investigation Cell, 4th Mile Dimapur will be held on April 23 at 11:00 am. Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio will unveil the inaugural plague of HPCC and also commission the AWS and Piezometer. Short speeches will be delivered by Advisor, Water Resources Department (WRD), Namri Nchang, and Chief Engineer cum Nodal Officer (NHP), WRD, Er Hotovi Ayemi while the Technical Report will be presented by Executive Engineer cum Project Manager for HPCC (NHP) WRD, Er Keduvizo Sophie.  Secretary to the Government of Nagaland cum Project Coordinator (NHP) WRD, Kevisa Kense, IAS will chair the programme, and Superintending Engineer cum Deputy Nodal Officer (NHP), WRD, Er Chubasashi Chang will propose the Vote of thanks.

Soft skills and IT skills training in Kiphire 

Kiphire, April 21 (MExN): One-day training on basic Soft skills and IT skills will be organised by the United Sangtam Students Conference (USSC ) and in collaboration with Nagaland Tribal Research Institute and Department of Tribal Affairs, GOI  at Zisaji Presidency College, Kiphire on April 22 with HoD Department of English (ZPGC), Kiphire Dr Dabashih as the guest of honour. The Resource Persons will be Superintendent, Child Protection Services Nagaland, Aolemla Imsong, SPA Social Welfare Department, and RJ All India Radio, Tiamongla Kichu.

Tree plantation held in ghathashi

Pughoboto, April 21 (MEXN): Due to the advantages of trees to the people, denizens of Ghathashi block under Pughoboto subdivision planted tree saplings with bamboo fencing in different villages on April 21. The drive was led by the officer in charge and this program was taken up under LADP. The participants included women group, teachers, students, etc. In a phase-wise manner, it will be covered in all the 24 villages as per their requirement and availability of saplings. The villages which took part on Thursday included Ghathashi, Tukuliqa, Iphonumi, Sheshulimi, Awohumi, Mishilimi, and Iqhanumi.
