DC Mkg warns against circulating fake news
Mokokchung, August 28 (MExN): 21 persons (10 male and 11 female) residing in the same building at Mongsenbai Ward, Mokokchung who were the primary/secondary contacts of a COVID-19 positive case have all been tested negative on August 27. Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir has therefore directed all the citizens to refrain from creating or circulating fake news and rumours relating to COVID-19 in social media and other electronic mediums. “Necessary legal action shall be initiated against anyone found guilty of creating or circulating fake news and rumours relating to COVID-19 under appropriate sections of the Nagaland Epidemic Disease Regulations, 2020 and the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897,’ the DC order added.
HANS Foundation donates ambulance to Mon dist
Mon, August 28 (MExN): Fulfilling a long desired necessity and need for the people of entire Mon district, an Advance Life Support (ASL) ambulance was donated HANS Foundation, New Delhi towards Mon District Hospital on August 26. Konyak Union (KU) has acknowledged Brig. Shalendra S Katariya, COO who personally handed over the ambulance to the Deputy Commissioner, Mon in the presence of the administration and the civil society members. The Union expressed appreciation to HANS Foundation for the concern shown towards one of the most remote district in the North East region and also requested the District Hospital, Mon to utilize the ambulance as per the requirements and specific needs of the people.
NPYC appeals Nagaland Governor to postpone JEE/NEET exam
Kohima, August 28 (MExN): Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) today appealed Nagaland’s Governor to postpone JEE/NEET exam. In a representation addressed to Governor, NPYC stated that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, crisis incurred immeasurably in every aspect. “However, due to the irresponsible discussion of the Government of India, the NEET/JEE students are worried about their future, putting students at health risk. When the demand from the students and parents community for postponing the offline examination of JEE/NEET was made, the Government of India, without heeding the voice of millions of scheduled exams of JEE/ NEET which is a manifestation of immature and insincerity of the Modi Government towards the students communities, thereby, jeopardizing millions of student's lives and the future of India,” NPYC President Vilhousielie Kenguruse and General Secretary (adm) Serangmong K Sangtam stated in a press release. NPYC appealed Governor to do the needful to postpone the said exams.
