NCD councilors reject selection committee report
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 24 (MExN): The new Councillors of the Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) today informed that the council held a meeting on August 22 for installation of new councillors for the tenure 2020-2024. A press release from Vekhosayi Nyekha on behalf of the new councilors claimed that “instead of the stated program, the selection commission, whose Constitution and existence is disputed and awaiting judgement from the Court of law, forcefully gave their report, which was outrightly rejected by the new councilors.” The press release informed that the case in this regard is at the court of law with a hearing date fixed for September 10.
WSKH condole demise of GB
Dimapur, August 24 (MExN): The Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) has mourned the demise of Hokheto Awomi, GB of Longto village in Tinsukia district of Assam on August 24.In a condolence message S. Vihuto Yepthomi, president, WSKH said Late Hokheto was an abled and upright village chief respected and loved by the people for his leadership qualities. Late. Hokheto Awomi served as president of All Assam GB Federation from 2010 to 2017 and President of Tinsukia District GB Federation from 2017 till his demise. WSKH conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal solace of the departed soul.
Deputy CM condoles
KOHIMA, AUGUST 24 (MExN): Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton and BJP Legislature Party Leader, Y Patton has expressed sadness at the demise of Woremo Humtsoe, father of Nzano Lotha, President of the BJP Mahila unit of Wokha district. A press release from the Deputy CM described late Humtsoe as an upright officer and a God fearing man who served the state government in different capacities till his retirement as Managing Director of the erstwhile Dimapur Sugar Mill. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, Patton expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
NSCN (IM) mourns
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 24 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has expressed sadness at the demise of Lemnyei Konyak, Deputy Kilonser of NSCN/GPRN from Tang village under Konyak Region on August 22 and SP Angphun Anal, Razou Peyu of NSCN/GPRN from Khubung village under Khurmi Region on August 21. A press release from the MIP of the NSCN (IM) stated that Lemnyei Konyak joined the Naga national service in May 1983 while Angphun Anal joined the Naga national service on the 21st March, 2018. “They both served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until their demise. The void created by their demise is deeply felt and would be difficult to fill in. For their selfless contribution to the Naga national cause, their names shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and their sacrifices for the Naga nation shall ever be cherished by all,” the press release stated. It meanwhile conveyed condolences to the bereaved families.
