ADC Bhandari directs clean up of colonies

BHANDARI, JUNE 9 (MExN): The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Bhandari has issue an order directing the people of Bhandari town to clean up all respective colonies and surrounding areas within this week, before June 14. The ADC ordered this as a measure of community health and hygiene, in order to prevent the outbreak of COVID-19 and other seasonal diseases. The order directed all GBs of respective colonies under Bhandari town to monitor the initiative.

 

Online anti-drug slogan competition

DIMAPUR, JUNE 9 (MExN): The Narcotics Control Bureau has invited online entries from all students/youths/other persons from the North Eastern States for an anti-drug slogan competition in regional language/Hindi/English.  The theme of the competition is ‘Say no to drugs and yes to life,’ informed a notification from the DIPR.  The best 10 entries will be selected by the Selection Committee and prizes and certificates will be awarded to the top 10 entries/candidates. Entries are invited by 12:00 pm of June 12. Online entries are to be sent to Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) Guwahati Zonal Unit at ghtzu-ncb@nic.in.  According to the PRO, PHQ, the results of the competition will be announced on June 23. Prizes and certificates will be distributed on June 26. 

 

Phek district virtual singing competition

Kohima, June 9 (MExN): The District Administration & District Level Centre for Women- Mahila Shakti Kendra (Beti Bachao Beti Padhao) Phek in collaboration with Task Force for Music & Arts (TAfMA) is all set to conduct Season 2 of the Phek District Virtual Singing Competition under the theme “Your Voice Your Strength.” In this, the organizer is inviting all girl bands/choir for this event. Minimum-5 and maximum 10 participants are eligible. There shall be common song for this competition- “A Million Dreams.” The participating team can download soundtrack “A Million Dreams” on Youtube channel @ District Level Centre for Women- Mahila Shakti Kendra Phek for audio record and compilation. No other instrument shall be entertained and the video document should not exceed 100 mb in size. The participating team can send their video document along with name of band/address and phone number to 9856189315 (Whatsapp) or mail at dlcwphek@gmail.com. Last date of submission is June 28 and result will be declared on June 30.

 

RCD elects new team of office bearers

DIMAPUR, JUNE 9 (MExN): The Rongmei Community Dimapur (RCD) has elected a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2019-2024. A press release from the RCD President, James Akham informed that the new team will be led by James Akham Maringmei as President; Kagunlungpu Golmei as Vice President; Raajellung Gonmei as General Secretary; David Rongmei as Assistant General Secretary; Luchuga Pamei as Treasurer; Achampou Gonmei as Cultural Secretary and Akhu Gangmei as Advisor. The press release further stated that the executive members include all Gaon Buras in Dimapur District; President, Lu Phuam, Dimapur; and the President, Rongmei Students’ Union, Dimapur. 

 

WCSU asks Wokha citizens to follow safety guidelines

WOKHA, JUNE 9 (MExN): The Wokha Circle Students’ Union (WCSU) has appealed to the citizens of Wokha to follow all guidelines in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.  A press release from the WCSU appealed to the citizens of Wokha town to be cautious while shopping and avoid crowded or larger gatherings in shopping areas as well as advocated the use of masks. Meanwhile the WCSU informed the shop owners to follow the government SOP, including use of hand gloves and masks during shopping hours. The WCSU further appealed to the town council administrator Wokha to check and review the prices in the market. It informed that the union will inspect the market areas within its jurisdiction, and cautioned that those found hoarding and asking high prices would be dealt with.
