
83 returnees reach Tuensang
Tuensang, May 25 (MExN): A total of 83 returnees have reached Tuensang district as on May 25. The total returnees are segregated and placed at three Quarantine Centres as per zones and region wise. Total of 12 individuals are stationed at JNV chare Institutional Quarantine Center (IQC) who are returnees from Assam and Meghalaya. At Sedem Government Polytechnic IQC there are 69 returnees from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Sikkim while one each from Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal at Sao Chang Government College IQC.
DC Mokokchung cautions against obstructing entry of returnees
Mokokchung, May 25 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir has notified that no individual, organization, ward, colonies or village is allowed to issue unwarranted directives or statements obstructing entry of person returning to their respective ward, colonies or villages after completion of the stipulated quarantine period. “Such unwarranted actions are infringements on individual rights as well as violation of Government orders,” the DC Mon stated in an order while adding that strict legal action will be initiated against any such individual or bodies obstructing the entry of persons in to the wards, colonies or villages under relevant section of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
Dhansiripar sub-div bodies express concern
Dimapur, May 25 (MExN): The Dhansiripar Sub-Division GB Union (DSGBU) and Dimasa Public Organization, Nagaland (DPO-N) have appealed to all the returnees to understand the gravity of the situation and follow the guidelines strictly for their own good and the community members. The two bodies have made an appeal to the state government to provide sufficient masks and sanitizers to the Sub Health centres and PHC/CHC in the Sub-division to meet the challenges likely to be posed by the inmates of the quarantined centres coming up near the Sub-divisional head quarter. DSGBU, President Dohoi and DPO-N, President K Naben in the press release said that the local organizations however should have been taken into account while deciding to house quarantined people in the identified locations.
Naga Navy veterans donate face masks to policemen
Dimapur, May 25 (MExN): Indian Navy veterans from Nagaland donated 2500 face masks to the office of the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur. The veterans stated that the purpose of the cause is to express their solidarity with the policemen to keep the policemen safe as they are one of the most exposed frontline workers, especially with the recent massive inflow of stranded Nagas from various parts of India by rail and road. They hoped that their action would encourage the communities to come together in fighting the pandemic by observing safety practices and supporting the frontline warriors. The Navy veterans from Nagaland have served the country in different fields of the Indian Navy for 15 years or more.
