DC Wokha notifies on damage compensation

Wokha, July 6 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha has  informed that survey for the affected building/structures for damage compensation for the work “widening of existing single/intermediate road to 2 Lane-road from KM 72.40 to KM 83.0 on NH-61 has been carried out by the District Level Verification Committee. Therefore, a list of affected landowners have been prepared and notified. Any person/party having any claims/objections as per the list given may submit in written to DC’s Office within a period of 15 days with effect from the date of publication of the notification. Any further claims/objections after the expiry of this period will not be entertained.

Drug peddler arrested in Dimapur

Dimapur, July 6 (MExN): Security Forces in a joint operation with police apprehended a drug peddler at general area Old Showba, Dimapur district on July 5. HQ IGAR (N) in a press release stated that based on a specific input, Security Forces in a joint operation with State Police apprehended the drug peddler and recovered 690 Nos of SP Tablet and one soap case of Brown Sugar worth Rs 29,250. The apprehended individual along with the recovered has been handed over to Diphupar Police Station, Dimapur district for further investigation, it stated. 

IMTN condemns 

Dimapur, July 6 (MExN): The Indigenous Minority Tribes of Nagaland (IMTN) has condemned the “mysterious death” of Rosy Sangma and Samuel Sangma. “In the past, the North East people living or working in various parts of mainland India suffered all types of harassment, intimidation,” IMTN president LL Kuki and general secretary Samuel Rongpi alleged in a condemnation note. “It is the time that all rational people, responsible civil organisation, human rights activists should join hands to fight this menace so as to avoid future occurrence of such undesirable elements for the sake of justice and equality for all,” IMTN stated. It also conveyed condolence to the bereaved families. 

NNF Mon Unit condemns 

Mon, July 6 (MExN): Nagaland NGO’s Forum (NNF), Mon Unit has expressed pain over the sexual assault of a minor on June 20 by at Aboi. “We are extremely sad and angered by the untoward incident and so we are unapologetic to condemn those people that don't respect women and those don't have a hint of shame in them,” the unit stated in a press release. It also appealed to the law enforcing agency to deliver justice to the victim at the earliest and requested the government to compensate the victim. 

Vaccination drive in Kiphire 

Kiphire, July 6 (MExN): COVID-19 vaccination drive was carried out at multiple villages under Pungro ADC HQ, Kiphire on July 6. The team was led by Dr Sato, accompanied by medical staff from Likhimro and Mimi village. A total of 21 people from Khonka village, four people from Kaha village and 31 from Mimi village were vaccinated. While at Hokumati village, 26 people have been vaccinated till date and more coverage will be taken up.
