ANHTU Dimapur notifies   

Dimapur, September 1 (MExN): The All Nagaland Hindi Teachers’ Union (ANHTU) Dimapur Unit has informed that the 26th District Level Hindi Diwas celebration scheduled to be held at Rashtra Bhasha Hindi Shiksha Kendra, Chekiye Dimapur on September 14 has been postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic. This was stated in a press release issued by H Daniel Sema, General Secretary, ANHTU, Dimapur Unit.

DEO Dimapur informs 

Dimapur, September 1 (MExN): The District Education Officer (DEO) Dimapur has informed all the Adhoc/Contingency employees under the establishment of DEO, Dimapur who are to apply for extension of their service for the year 2020-21, to submit their personal application, along with first appointment order, latest extension order and performance certificate from the concerned principal/ headmaster for onward submission to the DSE, Kohima, on or before September 30 during office hour. This was informed in a press release issued by R Amongla Jamir, DEO Dimapur. 

Diphupar ‘B’ Ao community clarifies

Dimapur, September 1 (MExN): The Diphupar ‘B’ Ao community on September 1 clarified that the address of the rape accused which is mentioned in the FIR as Diphupar ‘B’ is ‘fictitious’.
A press statement from the Diphupar ‘B’ Ao community President Imtisungkum Longchar and General Secretary Along Longkumer clarified that, while the parents of the accused are tenants in the village, he is not a resident of Diphupar ‘B’ village.
“He is a married man and lives separately with his family at Punglwa,” it stated, while urging all concerned to “verify the fact properly before dragging the good name of the village in such cases.”
The Community also condemned the alleged crime against the minor and requested the investigating agencies to examine the case thoroughly and punish the guilty as per the existing provisions of the law.

More Orgs condemn alleged rape of minor

Dimapur, September 1 (MExN): The Konyak Students' Union, Mon Hq on Tuesday expressed shock over the alleged rape of a minor girl belonging to the Konyak community by a 43-year old identified as Nungsang Lemtur alias Nungsangoba, a resident of Diphupar 'B', Dimapur.
The Union condemned the ‘barbaric and inhuman’ act committed by the accused and stated that “Such actions have no place in a civilized society.”
As such, the KSU appealed all the right thinking citizens to condemn the crime.
It also appealed to the concerned authority to investigate into the matter and ensure that the accused is brought to book under the stringent penal provisions and secure the severest punishment to deter such offence in future.
Further, the Union said that if justice is not delivered to the victim, the KSU will resort to its own course of action.

NNF (Mon): The Nagaland NGOs Forum (NNF) Mon Unit on September 1 also strongly condemned the alleged rape.
President Hamkai Arolim and General Secretary Heatwang M expressed ‘utmost intolerance’ and urged every right thinking citizen to condemn the act.
The Forum also shared sympathy with the victim’s family and requested the concerned government agencies to properly rehabilitate the victim so that the mental trauma that they had endured would be assuaged.
The NNF (Mon) also demanded for a thorough investigation and for befitting punishment to be awarded to the guilty “which would acts as a deterrent for the future.”

ENWO Dimapur: The Eastern Naga Women Organisation Dimapur condemned the alleged rape of a minor and said that it is ‘deeply disturbed’ by the incident.
“There is no justification to an act as repulsive as this,” it stated.
The Organisation expressed belief that the investigating authority would “make a proper example out of such incident.” It sought for ‘the severest punishment’ to be dealt without bail.

DPSU: The Dimapur Phom Students' Union (DPSU) also condemned the act and appealed to the law enforcing agency to award the “severest punishment as per the law of the land to such criminals.”

CSUD: The Chang Students’ Union Dimapur (CSUD) also stated that the “inhuman act should not be overlooked for it keeps on increasing until and unless the accused is punished, justice will not be served and no life of a girl is safe in a society like this.” Terming the crime as ‘totally unacceptable’, the CSUD said it should be condemned by all.
The Union urged the concerned law enforcing agency to give befitting punishment to the guilty according to the rule of the law.

KPC condoles

Kohima, September 1 (MExN): The members of Kohima Press Club mourned the demise of Pfüsozielhu Nagi, father of KPC member Vizono Nagi, who passed away on August 31. He was 73. “Words are not enough to comfort the bereaved family but we pray to our Almighty God to grant them solace and strength at this time of grief,” KPC General Secretary Atono Tsükrü Kense said in a condolence message on Tuesday. While conveying its condolences to the bereaved family, the KPC also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

NPCC mourns Pranab Mukherjee’s demise

Dimapur, September 1 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee President (NPCC)  K Therie on Monday mourned the demise of former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee.
In a condolence message to late Pranab’s family members, Therie expressed shock and sadness at the news of his demise.
He wrote about Pranab’s first visit to Chizami in Phek District in 1977, and said “He was considered as family of the NE and we always took our sensitive issues and problems to him first, for his guidance.”
He was a leader who could feel the passion and pain of the people. He always responded to the smallest issue we presented before him as he considered every citizen as equal, Therie wrote.  He never ignored and this is why we trust and love Shri Pranabji.
Expressing regret over his demise, the NPCC President wrote, “In the loss of you father Shri Pranabji, the eastern region of India has lost the most.”
He expressed “deep and sincere condolence on behalf of the people of Nagaland, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee ranks and files and Congress men and women to late Pranab’s children, grandchildren and family members.”

DBS: The Dimapur Bangali Samaj offered homage to former President Pranab Mukherjee.  “He was a mobile encyclopedia, an expert on constitutional matters, and a sincere follower of rules and regulations of the parliament. A multi talented personality who adorned the highest constitutional seat has left a void,” the Samaj said in its message.
