SP Wokha informs on firing practice

Wokha, June 12 (MExN): Superintendent of Police, Wokha, Aotula T Imchen has informed that the “B” Coy of 24 Assam Rifles will have a firing practice on June 14, 18 June and 22 at New Land Assam Rifle firing range, Wokha from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon.
In this regard, all the adjoining colonies and villages to stay away from the firing range/danger zone area to prevent any loss/injury to human lives, livestock and materials.

KMC revises mutton rate in Kohima

Kohima, June 12 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has revised the rate of Mutton within its jurisdiction with immediate effect and will remain till further order. Retail sale per kg for cut meat (Dry) stands Rs 620, Head- Rs 200, intestine- Rs 250 and legs- Rs 350. If the meat is detected to be adulterated with water, it shall be seized and license will be cancelled. This is subject to be revised as and when deemed necessary by the authority, according to KMC Administrator T Lanusenla Longkumer.


H&FW issues meeting circular

Kohima, June 12 (MExN): The Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland has notified in a circular that a state task force meeting on RI Strengthening activities (RI Micro planning, Measles, Rubella Elimination goal by December 2024 and Zero Dose Implementation Plan), is scheduled on June 20 at 2:00 pm in IDSP Hall, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland, Kohima. All concerned have been requested to attend the meeting.


NSCN/GPRN-R (Akato) appoints C-In-C, other key functionaries

Dimapur, June 12 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN-R (Akato) on June 12 appointed Major General Howoto Yeptho as the Commander In Chief (C-In-C), Major General Mongnei Konyak as Deputy C-In-C, Brigadier Jack Chophi as GSO (1), Colonel Nikhuvi Chophi as GSO (2), and Colonel Abel Yeptho as Military Supervisor.
They were appointed by the President’s Office to enable the “smooth and convenient functioning” of organisation, informed press release from MIP NSCN/GPRN-R (Akato).
It further informed that an order signed by the President dated June 12 reminded the new incumbents that “with new assignments comes great responsibilities” and stated that they are expected to lead with “dexterity, sincerity, and dedication.”
The order also decreed that all officials and members from the Political, Central Secretariat, and Naga Army Wing take note of the changes and positively cooperate with the newly assigned officials, the MIP release added.


One OGWs apprehended in Tinsukia

Kohima, June 12 (MExN): A joint operation was launched by a team of Indian Army and Assam Police on Monday based on “specific information” about presence of OGWs at Tikok village in Margherita of Tinsukia district. The PRO & Spokesperson of Assam Rifles in a press release stated “the operation resulted in apprehension of one active Over Ground Worker of NSCN (K) and recovered Rs 12 Lakh cash and certain incriminating documents.” “The money was discovered from a neighbouring house, police apprehended a woman from the house for further questioning. The money recovered is assessed to be the extortion money collected by various insurgent groups operational in Upper Assam,” the PRO stated.
