DC Tuensang appeals for rent waiver

Tuensang, June 16 (MExN): As decided in the meeting of the District Task Force on COVID-19 held on June 11, the DC and Chairman, DTF for COVID-19, Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant, has appealed to the owners of shops and business establishments to be compassionate during the pandemic and waive off at least a month's rent for the shops which have remained shut during the lockdown period. Due to the prevailing situation of COVID-19 and the lockdown measures being currently imposed in the district, various shops and small businesses of non-essential nature have been adversely affected and come to a standstill, the DC reasoned.

KCCI on disposal of waste in Kohima

Kohima, June 16 (MExN): The Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has directed all its members, trading communities and the general public, especially those residing in close vicinity along the highway and the designated waste collection points to be in strict coherence to the order issued by Kohima Municipal Council regarding the disposal of waste in the State capital Kohima. Timings fixed for disposal of waste in the morning before 6:00 am and after 6:00 pm in the evening should be strictly followed and properly managed by all, it stated. Failing which, penalties will be imposed regardless of traders and the general public, KCCI President Medozhatuo Rutsa cautioned.

One Yung Aung-led NSCN (K) cadre held

Mon, June 16 (MExN): Security Forces in a joint operation with Police apprehended an active cadre of the Yung Aung-led NSCN (K) at general area Sangsa Village, Mon on June 14. According to a press release from the HQ IGAR (N), based on a specific input, Security Forces in a joint operation with State Police apprehended the cadre who was allegedly involved in extortion activities in villages along the Nagaland-Arunachal Pradesh borders and recovered three extortion slips.  The apprehended individual along with the recovered items have been handed over to Namsa Police Station, Mon District for further investigation, the release added.
