KMC on renewal of trade license

Kohima, September 16 (MExN): Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) today informed all the business establishments within the KMC jurisdiction that due to statewide lockdown caused by the pandemic more than 70% of the traders have not renew their trade license for the year 1st April, 2020 to 31st March, 2021 till date. In this, KMC administrator Kovi Meyase requested all traders to renew their trade license at an early date.

Mass social work in Wokha on Sept 19 

Wokha, September 16 (MExN): EAC (Dev), Wokha, Imtinungula Longkumer has informed that as decided during the District convergence Action Plan Committee on Poshan Maah 2020 and as per the Posh Maah Action Plan 2020 for Wokha district, there will be a mass social work for all the Government Institutions, Offices, Anganwadi Centers on September 19 from 7:00 am to 9:00 am. All Head of Departments have been requested to supervise the social work in their respective offices and institutions without fail.

Pughoboto SDPDB meeting on Sept 17

Pughoboto, September 16 (MExN): ADC Pughoboto Thungchanbemo Tungoe has informed to all the members that Sub Division Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) will be held at the DB court hall at 11:00 am on September 17. He has directed all the members are attend the meeting positively.

LAPO against ‘segregating’ Kiphire AC

Kiphire, September 16 (MExN): The Longmatra Area Public Organisation (LAPO) has written to the Chairperson of the Delimitation Commission, with regard to the representation submitted by the Kiphire Sadar Assembly Constituency Committee on Delimitation (KSACCD). Earlier on June 22, the KSACCD had welcomed the exercise of Delimitation Act, 2002, in a representation titled ‘Proposal of separate Kiphire Sadar Assembly Constituency Seat’ and made an appeal for the creation of “one or two more assembly constituencies by segregating the existing 59 & 60 Assembly Constituency as feasible.” However, the LAPO claimed that the representation was made without the knowledge of the general public of Longmatra area, and thus, did not “hold any support/represent the views of the general public.” As such, it said that the organization, during its meeting on ‘delimitation exercise’ on September 12, decided to remain under 59 Seyochung-Sitimi Assembly Constituency and two villages to remain under 60 Kiphire-Pungro Assembly Constituency. 

7 arrested for liquor related offences in Dimapur

Dimapur, September 16 (MExN): The Excise Mobile Squad unit, Dimapur, raided various suspected liquor joints at Purana Bazaar and highway area on September 16 and arrested seven persons in this connection. According to a press release from the Superintendent of Excise and Prohibition (MS) K Toshiho Yeptho, the squad, led by Inspectors Hevito Zhimomi and Limatola conducted the raids and seized a total of 1,909 bottles of assorted liquor. Seven persons were arrested and penalized under relevant sections of the NLTP Act and the seized articles are deposited at the Unit’s ‘Malkhana’ for destruction as and when deemed necessary, the release stated. Further, it said that vigilance and duty have been ramped up in order to check illegal activities related to liquor.  

NSCN (IM) condoles

Dimapur, September 16 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has mourned the demise of Lieutenant Colonel Tokivi Achumi, MSM (Naga Army No. GH-16252), Assistant Quarter Master (AQM) of the General Headquarters, Naga Army from Luhevi village, Niuland sub-division under Union Territory (UT) on September 15. In a condolence message from its MIP on Wednesday, the NSCN (IM) stated that Achumi enrolled in the Naga national service on October 1, 1997, and “served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise.” The office of the Longvibu, Naga Army bestowed upon him posthumously the rank of Colonel on the September 15, 2020, in recognition of his service to the Naga nation, it added. Conveying condolences to the bereaved family and friends, the NSCN (IM) stated that Achumi’s “name shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and his sacrifices for the Naga nation shall ever be cherished by all.”
