NFHRCC mourns demise of member

Dimapur, September 17 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has mourned the demise of its founding member Hotongse Sangtam who passed away after a prolonged illness on September 17. Mourning the demise of one of its senior-most member, the NFHRCC said Hotongse Sangtam “was an upright leader and devoted his entire life for the service of the people.” The NFHRCC expressed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved families and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace. Late Hotongse’s funeral is slated to be held at 10:00 am at his Purana Bazar residence near Dhansiri old Bridge, it added. Meanwhile, it also informed that the meeting scheduled for 2:00 pm on September 18 has been postponed to 3:00 pm and requested all concerned to take note of the change.

NSCN (IM) mourns member’s demise

Dimapur, September 17 (MExN): The NSCN (IMN) has mourned the demise of 2nd Lieutenant Moniel Ruwngdal, Army no. 43225/14 of Kiusumong Battalion, Naga Army, who passed away on September 15. Hailing from Thorcham village under Khurmi region, late Ruwngdal enrolled in the Naga national service in 2014 and served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise, a condolence message from the MIP stated on Friday. “The Adjutant General (AG) of the Naga Army has bestowed upon him posthumously the rank of Lieutenant on the September 16, 2021 in recognition of his service to the Naga nation,” it added. Stating that the void created by his demise would be difficult to fill in, the MIP said that late Ruwngdal’s name would be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and remembered for all time. It further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

Muivah condoles

Dimapur, September 17 (MExN): Ato Kilonser of the NSCN (IM) Th Muivah has mourned the demise of Vikiye Achumi of Hukai village, Niuland. In a condolence message on Friday, Muivah stated that late Achumi joined the national movement “with sheer desire to serve the nation,” and was given various responsibilities which were “executed in the satisfaction of all and in the spirit of a nationalist.” “His death has left us a vacuum none can fill. The sacrifices and services rendered shall never be forgotten and shall be cherished in all times,” the message read. Muivah, on behalf of the Naga nation, conveyed condolences to the bereaved and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

ANHTU Peren Unit observes Hindi Diwas; elects new team

Peren, September 17 (MExN): The All Nagaland Hindi Teachers' Union (ANHTU) Peren unit observed Hindi Diwas-cum- General Election on September 14 at the Government Higher Secondary School, Peren and elected its office bearers for the 2021-2024 tenure. According to a press release from the Information & Publicity cell, the new team will be led by Kewidinbo Zeliang as President; Rachilung Pame as Vice President; Bamdi Zeliang as General Secretary; Nengneihoi as Asst General Secretary; Alusiamliu as Treasurer; Kigwetlungle and Azuina would take charge of Information & Publicity, while Kudaile Clera and Nzokam were elected as Cultural Secretaries.
