Kids Athletics Day in Kohima 

Kohima, April 22 (MExN): The Kohima District Athletics Association (KDAA) held a meeting at FERMATA Café on April 20 which was presided over by KDAA President, Thepfungunyu Solo.

As per the directive from Nagaland Athletics, the KDAA will be organizing the Kids Athletics Day on May 7 under the theme ‘world mile challenge’ at Secretariat Junction with the objective to promote athletics’ values and encourage participation among young people. It also aims to inspire the next generation of athletes, coaches and officials. 

KDAA General Secretary, Leketoulie Liezietsu in a press release stated that the Kids Athletics Day focus on the physical Activity, Health and wellbeing of all ages and backgrounds. There will be three categories viz. 4 to 7 years, 8 to 11 years & 12 to 14 years. Entry fee will be Rs 100.

The first three position holders in respective three categories will be awarded prizes and seven consolation prizes will be given to all the categories. ‘Sounds of Nagaland’ in Mumbai 
Kohima, April 22 (MExN): The Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) Nagaland in association with Bobble Creative & Concept will be presenting ‘Sounds of Nagaland’ (Nagaland’s Ultimate Music Showcase) at Harman Live Arena, Palm Expo,Mumbai on May 30.

The event will showcase some of the best artists from Nagaland to national and global audiences.
Palm Expo is India's biggest event in the field of music, entertainment and event-production technologies featuring the world's top brands.

KMC on beef rate in Kohima

Kohima, April 22 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed that the rate for beef (Halal meat) has been fixed at the rate of Rs. 300 per kg within the jurisdiction of KMC with effect from April 1. KMC Administrator T Lanusenla Longkumer stated that there will be no separate rate for halal meat. This order will remain in force until further notice, according to KMC.

CTA 50 yrs celebration from April 27

Kohima, April 22 (MExN): The Chakhesang Theological Association (CTA) will be celebrating its golden jubilee from April 27 to 28 at Phek Village Baptist Church under the theme “Renew Us.”

Rev Dr Vesekhoyi Tetseo, general secretary, Asia Pacific Baptist Federation will be the main speaker of the celebration. Rev Dr Chekroveyi Cho-o, executive secretary, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council will exhort the congregation while greetings will be shared by Rev Dr Vevo Phesao, president Chakhesang Baptist Church Council.

CTA golden jubilee souvenir will be released by Rev Khrotso Mero, former president CTA. Keynote address will be delivered by CTA president Rev Vezhoto Soho.

Flag hoisting will be done by CTA first president Rev Dr Phuveyi Dozo at 3:30 PM on April 27 at Phek village Baptist Church. Unveiling of jubilee monolith will be done at CBCC, T. Chikri Pfutsero on April 27 at 11:00 AM. Registration and arrival at Phek village have been scheduled at 1:00 PM on April 27.

Nagaland Health & Family Welfare to observe Malaria Day

Kohima, April 22 (MExN): The Department of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland, will be observing World Malaria Day on April 25 at 11:00 am at the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima under the theme “Accelerating the fight against malaria for a more equitable world.”

Keynote address will be delivered by Dr. E. Motsuthung Patton, Principal Director, H&FW-cum- Mission Director, NHM. V Kezo, Commissioner & Secretary for Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland will also speak on the occasion.

The celebration will also witness felicitation of top 2 best performing Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) and 2 Surveillance Worker under Kohima district. The felicitation will be led by Kohima CMO Dr Leamnyei Konyak. The programme will be chaired by Dr Akuo Sorhie while welcome address will be delivered by Dr Khriezotuo Paphino. Vote of thanks will be proposed by Dr R Chubala Aier, Additional Director and SPO (NCVBDC), Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland.

Yamaha motorcycle recovered 
Dimapur, April 22 (MExN): The UT-1 office of the NSCN/GPRN (Nikki) has recovered a black colour BS-4 Yamaha R-15 ABS motorcycle bearing registration number NL 07 EA 4962, chassis number ME1RG5255K0055555 and engine number G3K5E01XXXXX. In a press release, MIP of NSCN/GPRN (Nikki) stated that therefore, the office of the Caretaker UT-1 has informed the rightful owner to contact 9863823864/7627921520 and claim the motorcycle within seven days by producing the valid documents.
