IMFL seized in Dimapur

Dimapur, October 23 (MExN): The Dimapur District Excise duty party manning Newfield check gate while on a regular check gate duty along NH-29 route, intercepted a vehicle (truck) bearing registration number AS 25CC 0217 on October 22. On frisking the vehicle, the duty party recovered 97 cases of assorted IMFL concealed under bags of salt. In this connection, one Deepak Kumar (22) of Karbi Anglong, Assam was arrested and booked under relevant sections of the NLTP Act 1989, a press release from the Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition Dimapur informed. As per preliminary investigation, the accused admitted that the seized contraband was bound for Imphal, Manipur, the release added.

KDVA informs 

Kohima, October 23 (MExN): The Kohima District Volleyball Association (KDVA) informed that the  form for the forthcoming 8th Kohima District Open Volleyball Tournament 2021 for both men and women have been made available at Sports World, Main Town, Kohima and Star Sports, Near Southern Angami Sumo Parking. Last date of form submission is November 6. The tournament has been scheduled for November 10 to 13 at Kohima Local Ground.

Mangmetongtsür Telongjem Dimapur condemns

Dimapur, October 23 (MExN): The Mangmetongtsür Telongjem Dimapur on Saturday expressed shock at the alleged “attempted murder” on Aremchang Imchen by Kevechulo Koza and Keneilekuo Zumu on October 13. The victim, a bonafide citizen of Mangmetong, was reportedly attacked with a sharp weapon, resulting in grievous injury, as per the Mangmetongtsür Telongjem Dimapur’s statement. The Association strongly condemned the act and asserted that such acts are not acceptable in a civilized society. It prayed for speedy recovery of the victim and also appealed the concerned authority to take immediate action.

One arrested in Longding

Longding, October 23 (MExN): Security Forces in a joint operation with Police apprehended one over ground worker (OGW) at Longding Town, Arunachal Pradesh on October 20. As per a press release from the HQ IGAR (N), the arrest was made “based on a specific input” and the apprehended individual was allegedly an OGW involved in “facilitating extortion by NSCN-K (YA) & NSCN (U)”. The release further stated that various incriminating documents and one mobile phone were recovered from the individual who has been handed over to Longding Police Station, Longding district for further investigation. 

District Governor Rotary International to visit Kohima on Oct 29

Kohima, October 23 (MExN): The official visit of District Governor, Rotary International, Dist-3240 to Rotary Club Kohima has been scheduled on October 29. According to a press release from the Media Cell, Rotary Club Kohima, the District Governor Rtn Dr Mohan S Konwar along with First Lady and Assistant Governor will arrive on October 29 and the first Business Session with officials and chair of various committees would be held in the afternoon followed by Club Assembly after which, the evening session will be held, followed by dinner and entertainment at Hotel Japfü, Kohima. The President of Rotary Club Kohima Rtn Kezhokhoto Savi has requested all the club members to attend the unique official visit of the District Governor. The release further informed that the Rotary Club Kohima donated oxygen concentrators, oximeters, face masks and sanitizers to Community Health Centre, Pfutsero and Primary Health Centre, Khezhakeno on October 22.
