Nagaland Governor extends Holi greetings

Kohima, March 24 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, has extended Holi greetings and wished everyone a colorful and happy celebration.  “Holi celebrates love, spring, and the victory of good over evil. The festival is an occasion where one sets aside rivalries of the past and celebrates together in the spirit of fun,” he conveyed in a message.
It is a celebration of forgiveness and the renewal of relationships where people seek blessings from elders, exchange warm wishes, and thus strengthen the bonds of friendships and camaraderie, he said.  Let us remember to unite people together, forget all differences, and respect one another, he added.

NSCN (R) effects minor reshuffle

Dimapur, March 24 (MExN): A minor reshuffle in the allocation of portfolios has been effected through a cabinet decision within the ranks of the NSCN (Reformation).  A press release from MIP NSCN (R) informed that Maj Gen (Retd) Apan Konyak, who was a Kilonser in the Ministry of Keya (Defence), is elevated to the post of Advisor to the Collective Leaders (ACL). He was replaced by Kilonser Khekato Kinimi.
Meanwhile, Iska Lokobo, Kilonser, has been given the responsibility of Supervisor of the Ceasefire Supervisory Board (CFSB), replacing Mughato Chophy. The Ministry of Chaplee (Finance) has been allotted to Mughato Chophy, the release said.  The reshuffle came into effect from March 22. All concerned authorities and individuals are requested to extend all support and cooperation to the leaders wherever necessary, it added.

DCCF condemns March 22 incident

Dimapur, March 24 (MExN): The Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) has Strongly condemned the March 22 incident when a 22 year-old woman was allegedly “stabbed multiple times” inside a shop in Dimapur reportedly, by one Abdul Majid.
“Such acts of violence was unheard of earlier in our society and this shows the audacity of the criminal minds to carry out such an acts right here in the heart of our city at broad daylight now,” the Forum said in a condemnation note. Such criminal activities have no place in our society and must be condemned and contained, it contented. 
Accordingly, the  DDCF appealed to the concerned authorities to thoroughly investigate the case and book the culprit as per the law and instil the fact that the law prevails and no criminal can go scot-free after committing any crime in the city. There should be no bail and stringent punishment as per the existing law of the land must be awarded to the culprit, it asserted. 
The Forum urged  all the citizens to be more aware of their own surroundings, be more vigilant and the business owners to make sure that CCTVs are up and running and to report any suspicious activity to the concerned authorities.
 

Aboriginal Energy attends Startup Mahakumbh 2024

Dimapur, March 24 (MExN): Aboriginal Energy, a solar startup from Nagaland, represented the State at the Startup Mahakumbh Event 2024, held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from March 18-21. 
The event, a convergence of leading investors, innovators, entrepreneurs, and business visitors from across India, provided a platform for Aboriginal Energy to showcase its innovative solutions and entrepreneurial prowess, informed a press release from Atsung Sangtam, Manager & Entrepreneurship Trainer at ESB Business Incubation Centre, Dimapur. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi personally inspected the startup exhibition, it said. 
The company's presence at the event not only showcased its commitment to sustainable energy solutions but also underscored Nagaland's burgeoning startup ecosystem on a national stage, the release added.

AR celebrates Veterans’ Day in Mkg
Kohima, March 24 (MExN): The Assam Rifles celebrated Veterans’ Day 2024 with Ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and widows of nearby areas of Mokokchung under the theme ‘Honoring Service and Sacrifice' at Mokokchung town on March 23. A total of 105 persons comprising of 63 Ex- Servicemen , 2 Veer Naris, 1 Veer Mata, 22 Widows & 17 Dependents attended the event. 
The aim of the interaction was to connect with Ex Servicemen and address their grievances related to pension, medical, ECHS, banking and CSD facilities and providing services related to  Aadhar, Pan Card and electoral Voter ID cards, informed an official release. Grievances of all Ex-servicemen were recorded for subsequent actions and were assured of full assistance from Assam Rifles, it added.
