NSCN (IM) condole demise of JD Theisinlar

Dimapur, November 26 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has expressed grief over the demise of JD Theisinlar, Tatar on November 20. He was from Lamdangmei village under Zeilad Region, joined the Naga national service in 1999 and served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise. The void created by his death is deeply felt and would be difficult to fill in. For his selfless contributions to the Naga national cause, his name shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and he shall be remembered for all time to come, the NSCN (IM) stated while conveying condolence to the bereaved family members. “It is our prayers that the Almighty God will comfort his family members during this time of grief. We pray for his soul to rest in eternal peace,” it added.

One unidentified dead body recovered 

Dimapur, November 26 (MExN): The Dimapur Police on Friday recovered one unidentified dead body (non-local male) aged around 36-38 yrs (approx) from Dhobinala, Dimapur. The Dy Commissioner of Police (Crime) & PRO, Dimapur in a press release stated that on completion of all legal formalities the dead body was shifted to District Hospital Dimapur Morgue for PM examination/identification. As per the inquest report, there are no apparent injuries and no any foul play is suspected. The deceased was wearing green jacket, grey and black checked shirt, black coloured long pants and black chappals. Claimant/relatives/friends of the deceased are requested to contact the Officer-in-Charge West PS, Dimapur at 7085055024.  

TR Zeliang to hold status  & rank of Cabinet Minister

Kohima, November 26 (MExN): In view of the decision of the NPF Legislature Party to join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Government, Commissioner & Secretary NLA, Dr PJ Antony has informed that the Chief Minister and the Leader of the UDA has decided to designate TR Zeliang as the NPF Legislature Party Leader in the Assembly. In that capacity, he will hold the status and rank of a Cabinet Minister, enjoying all the attendant facilities.

Wokha ULB candidates oppose govt notice

WOKHA, NOVEMBER 26 (MExN): Adding pressure on the government, eleven candidates of the ULB election held in Wokha in 2017 have opposed the Nagaland Government’s notification for the formation of Advisory Council to Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) to Wokha Town Council. A meeting on November 26 decided not to accept the November 18, 2021 notification issued by the Government of Nagaland for nomination of ULB Advisory Council. The candidates, in a joint statement, termed the notice as unethical and called upon the State Government to conduct normal election rather than a nomination process which is “unfair and infringes on democracy.”

DoES Nagaland to conduct seminar 

Kohima, November 26 (MExN): The Department of Economics and Statistics (DoES) Nagaland will conduct a state level seminar with the theme “Awareness Amongst Data Providers on the Importance of Reliable Statistics” to be held on November 30 at 10 AM in the Capital Convention Center Kohima. Advisor for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Evaluation, and Economics and Statistics, L. Khumo will grace the programme as special guest.
