Chiecha Kuda Union condemns October 13 assault incident 

Dimapur, October 26 (MExN): The Chiecha Kuda Union (CKU) has condemned the crime committed by a member the Union, Keneiletuo Zumvü by physically assaulting Aremchang Imchen on October 13 at Khopanala area and thereby inflicting grievous injuries on the victim.

“The crime committed by Keneiletuo Zumvü and his accomplice M Kevechülo Koza is one that deserves condemnation from every section of the society, especially in a time like now when the whole Naga family is striving for peace and unity,” CKU President, Dr Tolto Metha and Advisor, Menguzelie Rio stated in a condemnation note.

“The CKU does not condone their criminal acts under any circumstances and will extend its full support to the law enforcement authorities in delivering justice to the victim and his family as per the law of the land, and will also work diligently in fostering peace and harmony with our fellow Naga communities,” the union asserted. 

Further, the union has extended prayers and wishes to Aremchang for speedy recovery, both physically and emotionally traumatizing incident. 

CS convenes meeting on Hornbill Festival

Kohima, October 26 (MExN): The Department of Tourism, Nagaland has informed that the Chief Secretary has convened a meeting with all the line departments in connection with the status of preparation and road map for celebration of the Hornbill Festival, 2021 on October 28 at 2:00 PM at the Secretariat Conference Hall, Kohima. All concerned have been requested to attend the meeting positively.

Nagaland govt sanctions Rs 20 cr for foothill road 

Dimapur, October 26 (MExN): The Government of Nagaland has sanctioned a sum of Rs 20 crore to maintain the foothill road pliable as requested in September 2021, informed a press release issued by the Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC), Co-Convenor, Hokiye Yepthomi and General Secretary, W Lemba Chang. Appreciating the government for the sanction, NFHRCC said, “Accordingly the committee had represented the authority concerned to expedite the process as the working season has already started. Further, it is encouraging to know that the file has already reached the CMO for final comments.” Meanwhile, the committee has also urged the Government of Nagaland to look into the matter expediently for the greater interest of the Naga public. 

NLA Committee on Public Undertakings meeting 

Kohima, October 26 (MExN): Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Chairman of the Committee on Public Undertakings, Mhathung Yanthan has convened a meeting of the Committee on October 28 at 11:00 am in the Assembly Committee Room, Kohima. Also ‘On-the-Spot’ verification visit to study the status of the two Hotels (Hotel Japfü, Hotel Saramati) and the SEZ Ganeshagar has also been proposed by the Committee to be undertaken on October 29. All the members of the Committee have been requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting on the date and time as indicated and also join the proposed study tour. 

WDPA informs on membership 

Wokha, October 26 (MExN): The Wokha District Pensioners’ Association (WDPA) has informed all its members to renew their membership and submit Life Certificate for the year 2021-22 during November 1 to December 15. WDPA President Yihamo Patton has requested the pensioner to bring their Identity Card and Xerox copies of PPO book (page 1 and 3) and SBI Bank account book (1st Page).
