ENWO, DMST condemn alleged rape of minor

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 31 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Women’s Organization (ENWO) and the Dimapur Molungkimong Senso Telongjem (DMST) have condemned the alleged rape of a minor by a 43 year old man in Dimapur.  A press release from the ENWO said that “such inhumane act cannot be tolerated in our Naga society and should be condemned by one and all.” It urged the authority to book the perpetrator under relevant Section of the POCSO ACT and take stringent action.

Meanwhile, the DMST also condemned the incident and said that the “union has utmost intolerance against such a heinous crime as rape and warns against any of its member trying to bail out the accused or influence the course of investigation, so as to ensure fair and quick trial of the case by the investigating agency.”   It further asked the concerned authority to take appropriate action as per the existing provisions of the law against the accused if proven guilty.

MDYC president installed 

Kohima, August 31 (MExN): As per the Constitution of Indian Youth Congress (IYC), Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress President Vilhousielie Kenguruse has appointed Obendangba Jamir as President of Mokokchung District Youth Congress (MDYC) with immediate effect. Other office bearers included Vice President- Alemchiba, Imkum and Talimoa, General Secretary (Adm)- Nungshitemsu, Secretaries Tiakala and Ayala. The installation of the new team of MDYC was held on August 29.

Tenyimia Union Mkg installs new office bearers 

Mokokchung, August 31 (MExN): Tenyimia Union Mokokchung (TUM) held an installation programme of a new team office bearers and executive members at Tenyimia Building, Mokokchung on August 29. A press release TUM stated that Kreho Athili, Lead District Manager (Mokokchung & Longleng) conducted the election and exhorted the gathering while Teyalo Seb, Pastor, Tenyimia Church Mokokchung pronounce the installation prayer. The new team for the tenure 2020-23 will be headed by Dr Visakho Shünyü as the President, Kupeusing Meru as Vice President, Er Shalo Keppen as General Secretary, Neikhovi Paphino as Assistant General Secretary, Vimhazonuo Khusoh as Treasurer, Thekho Veryikhu Victor as Game & Sport Secretary and  Shasin Sebu as Social & Cultural Secretary. The tribal representatives are Ruokuovizo Seyie (Angami), Veduzo Ringa (Chakhesang), Tsüchutu Jorror (Pouchury), Gabriel Seb (Rengma), Kaiche Kaikho Mao (Shepoumaram) and Razianlung Gonmei (Zeliangrong).
