
Bishop James Thoppil to visit Kidima parish
Kohima, March 4 (DIPR): Rt. Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima Diocese is visiting Kidima Parish from March 8 to 10, 2013 on pastoral mission tour. Rev. Fr. P.J. Thomas, Parish Priest has informed that during the Bishop’s Pastoral visit meetings would be held with church leaders, parish council, priest and nuns. His Lordship would visit convents and churches under the parish and overview the records of the church in its Apostolic assignment. The sacraments like confirmation, first communion and Eucharist would be arranged for the faithful on the occasion.
Cotton College alumni conference
Dimapur, March 4 (MExN): A conference of veteran graduates of Cotton College will be held on April 10, 2013 at the premises of the college. Chubatemjen Ao, in a press note extends invitation to all pre – 1971 graduates of the Cotton College. The registration form for the conference is available for submission along with a passport size photograph and Rs 1,000, with Chubatamjen Ao at Diphupar, and can be contacted at 9436260132. The conference is being organized for the first time and all pre – 1971 alumni of the college are urged upon to respond positively.
PCC meeting venue corrected
Dimapur, March 4 (MExN): The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has informed that the meeting scheduled on March 5 will be held at Home mart, Conference Hall, opposite Hotel Saramati, Dimapur at 10:00 am.
Rengma community appeals for cabinet berth
Dimapur, March 4 (MExN): An appeal has been made to the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio by the Rengmas to give cabinet berth to lone MLA representing the tribe, for development and uplift of the Rengma community. A press release issued by former President, Rengma Students’ Union, Zentilo Tep called the CM “dynamic and farsighted” and stated that in the history of Rengma politics nobody has ever won an election and stayed in the opposition bench, and that Rengmas have been a part of DAN government since its inception and “will continue to uphold the banner even in the days to come.”
