
Nagaland Gov greets Yimkhiung community
KOHIMA, AUGUST 7 (MExN): Nagaland Governor La Ganesan has greeted the Yimkhiung community on the occasion of Metemneo festival.
“May this joyous occasion bring abundant blessings, prosperity, and good health. As you come together to celebrate your rich cultural heritage, let's cherish the bonds of community and the spirit of unity. May the rituals, dances, and feasts fill our hearts with happiness and gratitude for the bountiful harvest,” the message from the Governor read.
NSCN/GPRN (Niki) terminates
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 7 (MExN): As per recommendation received from the Regional Office, United Sangtam Region (USR) through the office of Secretary, Kilo Affairs, the NSCN/GPRN (Nikki) has terminated Deputy Kilonser Yangthsase Sangtam, S/o Hangkimong Sangtam of Kiphire town from active national service with immediate effect.
A termination order issued from the office of Ato Kilonser, stated that Yangthsase was terminated for his involvement in anti-national activities.
Unidentified dead body recovered
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 7 (MExN): An unidentified male, aged around 50-55 years, who was found in an unconscious condition from Midland colony, Dimapur on August 5 at around 1:20 pm and admitted to District Hospital Dimapur expired on August 6, Dimapur police has informed.
A press note by the Deputy Commissioner of Police stated that upon receiving the information, the police rushed to the hospital and inquest examination was conducted over the dead body (assumed non local). No foul play could be established during the time of the inquest, it stated.
On completion of all legal formalities, the dead body was shifted to the District Hospital Dimapur morgue for Post Mortem examination and identification. The deceased was wearing a brown polo shirt, grey vest and black long pant when he was first discovered.

Patton greets on Metemneo
KOHIMA, AUGUST 7 (MExN): Nagaland’s Deputy CM, Y Patton has greeted the Yimkhung community on the occasion of Metemneo festival.
Patton said that festivals are time to showcase their rich cultural heritage. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, the Dy CM conveyed heartiest festive greetings and hope that it is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm, a press release issued by Media Cell, Dy CM stated.
