Shops in Mon to open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Mon, September 7 (MExN): In pursuance to the Government of Nagaland order dated August 31, it has been informed that all types of business establishments/shops under Mon Town will function from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm every day except on Sunday w.e.f August 31.

Kohima: Sect Police Complex (Outpost) and others sealed 

Kohima, September 7 (MExN): Following the detection of COVID-19 positive case, the New Sect Police Complex (Outpost) has been demarcated as Sealed Area. ADC Kohima Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa has informed that in view of the detection of COVID-19 positive person a house each has been sealed in Merhulietsa, Paramedical colony; Zenuobadze colony; and D'Block colony, Sector-C. In another notice, the ADC Kohima informed that  in view of the detection of COVID-19 positive person, a house each has been demarked as ‘Sealed Area’ in Potterlane Colony, Lower Chandmari Colony and D-Block Colony, Kohima in order to contain the spread of the disease/infection and for necessary contact tracing. The ADC Kohima stated that all movement of person/vehicles within the defined Sealed Area is strictly restricted/prohibited and under active surveillance with effect from the date of sealing. 

ENSF assures support for medical college project 

Dimapur, September 7 (MExN): With the approval of setting up the second medical college in Nagaland, the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) stated that it will not only cater to the people in the eastern region of the state but also benefit the people from some neighbouring states part and even the Nagas and other living along the India-Myanmar border. The Federation in a press release urged all to give their best for successful completion of the college at the earliest. It also assured all support and co-operation for the successful completion of the said project.

Kohima Police arrest two for illegal transportation of IMFL

Kohima, September 7 (MExN): The Highway Patrol team of Kohima Police while conducting routine checking of vehicles on September 5 arrested two person namely Bijoy Pandey Age-31 yrs and Bharul Khan, Age-19 yrs, both residents of Blue Hill Colony Dimapur, for illegal transportation of 126 cases of IMFL worth approximately 6 lakh from a vehicle bearing registration number AS 15AC3581 from Peducha Check gate. Accordingly, the illegal items along with the vehicle have been seized, informed a press release issued by Kohima Police. In this connection, a case has been registered at Kohima Sechü (Zubza) PS and investigation is on. 

More supports demand to probe into fund utilization at KPA 

Zunheboto, September 7 (MExN): The Atoizu Area Kukami (GBs) Hoho has extended full support to the demand of All Nagaland College Student’s Union (ANCSU) submitted to the Government of Nagaland to set up enquiry commission to probe into the fund utilization at Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) under AICTE-NEQIP Scheme. The Hoho in a press release stated that KPA has been a renowned institution with the approval to upgrade to a degree level (B.E) School. “Any institution riddled with corruption and misuse of resources, whether for the students or for the infrastructure cannot sustain itself. Such unjust activities only can cripple growth and development,” it stated. Therefore, in support of ANCSU and Atoizu Range Students’ Union, the Hoho has urged the Government of Nagaland to look into the problem at the earliest. 

NBSE notifies on CSSS

Kohima, September 7 (MExN): In pursuant of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education, Scholarship Division, letter dated July 31, 2020, the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has notified for information of all concerned that the beneficiary students may open an account as an option in the Post Office or use existing Post Office account for the purpose of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) under Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships (CSSS). The Post Offices are providing banking and insurance services, the banking services may be useful for the beneficiaries of such scheme as the Post Offices have some popular small saving schemes like Post Office Savings Bank Account (POSB) and Public Provident Fund Scheme (PPF). Therefore, the NBSE has requested all heads of institutions to disseminate this information to the students.

NERIST Entrance Exam deferred 

Kohima, September 7 (MExN): The Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Nagaland has informed all the candidates who have applied for NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE-2020), that the Institute has decided to defer the dates for NEE-2020. The revised notification for admission through NEE-2020 shall be notified in 2nd week of September, 2020. The candidates are advised to check the institute website:www.nerist.ac.in / www.neeonline.ac.in regularly for updates.

‘Prayers and fasting for prisoners’ on Sept 13 

Kohima, September 7 (MExN): A day of ‘prayers and fasting for prisoners’ in jails in Nagaland will be observed on September 13. The members of All India Prison Ministry Nagaland, Kohima (AIPMNK) has requested the Christians and believers of all Churches (Non-Denominational) in Nagaland to observe this Sunday to pray and fast for the prisoners, the jail authority and the AIPMNK as well. Due to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic outbreak the Ministry members are not in a position to visit jails for the time being. AIPMNK President, K Sezo Angami and Secretary, Kevesho Tetseo in a press release stated that the Government of Nagaland has given permission to observe the day i.e. the second Sunday of September as an annual day of prayer and fasting for prisoners.
