
Nagaland: Temps gradually rising
DIMAPUR, July 31 (MExN): The Nagaland State Nodal Officer for Meteorology has informed that with the monsoon season well underway, the temperature in the State is gradually rising. The State has experienced medium to heavy showers with more than 17 rainy days with thunderstorm and lightning. In the last 31 days (July) as documented by the Department of Soil and Water Conservation from 17 Meteorological stations, the average temperature of the State recorded an average maximum temperature of 27.5 °C, while minimum temperature hovered at 20.6 °C and Relative humidity at 85.3%. The state as a whole received an average rainfall of 348.6 mm in the month of July over different stations. The Meteorological Observatory at Dimapur recorded the highest maximum temperature with 36.2°C on July 22 and Zunheboto recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 14.2 °C on July 3. Highest rainfall of 135.2mm was recorded from Jalukie Observatory on July 23.
Beautify buildings, shops: KMC
Kohima, July 31 (MExN): In pursuance of the home department coordination meeting minutes, the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) directed all the shopkeepers and business establishments within KMC jurisdiction to beautify, white wash and paint the front side of their respective building and shops facing the road on or before August 10 in view of the forthcoming Independence Day celebration. This was stated in a circular issued by KMC Administrator, T Lanusenla Longkumer.
Governor greets on Tsüngremmong festival
Kohima, July 31 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan has conveyed festival greetings to Ao brothers and sisters on the occasion of Tsüngremmong festival. “Tsüngremmong is a pre-harvest festival celebrated to express our gratitude to the Supreme Power and praying for a bountiful yield. It is also celebration to strengthen their bond of brotherhood and unity among the people in the village and beyond,” the Governor stated. “May the blessings and the significance of the festival be manifested in our daily lives so that peace, love, brotherhood and prosperity will flourish in our land. God Bless Nagaland!” he added.
Kohima DC informs on no parking zone
KOHIMA, July 31 (MExN): The Kohima Deputy Commissioner has informed that the Kohima Smart City Development Ltd will carry out ‘streetscape documentation—video and photography documentation’ within the stretch from the present NST Bus Station to Razhu point from August 2 to 4. A notice from the DC informed that during the period of documentation the aforementioned stretch is declared as no parking zone from 7 am to 7 pm. The public have been advised to utilize the multi level car parking during the said period.
WSKH emergency executive meeting
Dimapur, July 31 (MExN): The Westerns Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) has called an emergency executive meeting to discuss about the issue of Petroleum and Natural Gas on August 3 at Nikhe village, Aghunaqa area. Therefore, WSKH President Phushito Ayemi has requested all the WSKH executive members, area chairman, advisors of WSKH to attend the meeting without fail.
Pfutsero co-ordination meeting
Pfutsero, July 31 (MExN): ADC Pfutsero, Nchumbemo NCS has informed that there will be a co-ordination meeting on August 2 at 11:00 am in the Conference Hall of ADC, Pfutsero to discuss work distribution for the forthcoming Independence Day celebration. Therefore, all the Heads of offices have been informed to attend the meeting without fail.
