Landowners Pattadars inform 
Dimapur, August 10 (MExN): The Landowners Pattadars has informed all the bona fide members of the landowners pattadars, whose lands are under army occupation in Dimapur town, who have not up dated annual memberships are requested to update the same on or before August 30. NASU condemns alleged assault on ASU president 
KOHIMA, AUGUST 10 (MExN): The Northern Angami Students' Union (NASU) has strongly condemned the physical assault on the President of Angami Students' Union reportedly by the 13th Assam Rifle jawan(s) at Kohima, D Block on August 9.  Denouncing the barbaric act of harassment and use of violence means against a responsible leader, the NASU said  such inhuman act is a direct threat to the entire community, and have no place in our society as it undermines the unity and integrity of the nation. The Union said it stands in solidarity with ASU in all course of action and vowed to continue to protect and support the citizens against any such forms of threats and harassment.


NNC/GDRN (NA) informs 
Dimapur, August 10 (MExN): NNC/GDRN (NA) will be observing its 78th Naga Independent Day on August 14 at 10:00 am, at Oking. Therefore, the NNC/GDRN (NA) in a press release has requested all the members, both from Civil and Army to attend the Independent Day celebration without fail and to await it with positivity and prayers.


NSCN-K (YA), ULFA (I) calls for boycott of I-Day 
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 9 (MExN): The Yung Aung led NSCN-K and ULFA (Independent) has declared the boycott of the Independence Day celebration on August 15 in the states of Assam, Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. In a joint press statement received here, the two groups declared a total shut down in the four Northeastern states with exception of emergency services, media and religious activities. “Under the spirit of One People One People One Vision, we call upon all the freedom loving Wesean citizens to reject this day and support our boycott call by remaining indoors,” the joint press statement read. “The imposed celebration has nothing to offer our region except a sorrowful reminder of another year under India’s brutal occupation…This day will continue to remain a ‘Black Day’ in chapter of Wesean revolution,” it added. 


NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) mourns 
Dimapur, August 11 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) has mourned the demise of Nihovi Achumi who passed away on August 9. In a condolence, NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi), President said that his main credit in Nagamese film was playing the lead character in the film ‘My Blood for the Nation.’ “When I was the President of the DDYO (Dimapur District Youth Organisation), he was the Joint Secretary. Besides being a famous Naga Martial Artist, and a youth leader, he was a very good friend to one and all,” Chophi stated while conveying condolences to the bereaved family.
