NNC/FGN informs on 60th Indo-Naga Ceasefire Day

Kohima, August 29 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC), Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) and Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) will observe the 60th Indo-Naga Ceasefire Day on September 6, 10 AM onwards at Chedema Peace Camp, Angami Region. The Ministry of Rali Wall FGN has invited all participate in the event.

Nagaland Excise seizes 340 grams of heroin, one held

Dimapur, August 29 (MExN): A duty party of the Special Task Force (STF) Nagaland Excise seized 340 grams of heroin (sunflower) from a house located at the DC court area, Dimapur on August 27. 

According to an official release, the team also arrested one Izaki Kiho (27 yrs) for the possession of the contraband. 

A case has been registered in this regard under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 and further investigation is on. Meanwhile, the accused has been forwarded to the Court and further investigation is on, stated the release issued by T Arilong Longkumer, Assistant Commissioner of Excise (ENF) & Team Leader Excise STF.

NNP Nagaland notifies State Executive Committee

Dimapur, August 29 (MExN): The National People's Party (NPP) Nagaland on August 28 has notified the State Executive Committee for the tenure 2023-2026 for smooth functioning of its office with immediate effect. A press release from the party informed that the six-member committee comprised of  A Nyamnyei Konyak as President and Lima Longchar, Simon Yepthomi, Ranjit Singhvi, Angnyei Konyak and Hiketo Shohe as members.

ZLSU mourns death of  Dr Assape

Peren, August 29 (MExN): The entire team of Zeliang Students’ Union Nagaland (ZLSU) has expressed shcok and sadness over untimely demise of its Advisor Dr Assape Kauring on August 29, 2023 at Nikos Hospital, Dimapur.  Late Dr Assape was a man of humility and integrity who stood strongly by the union during the ebb and flow and has been a priceless asset all throughout, the ZLSU stated in a press note. 

His demise is an irreparable loss for the union as well as the entire Zeliang community, it said. At this time of greatest grief and darkness,the whole Team of ZLSU is with the bereaved family in prayer, May the departed soul rest in eternal peace, it added.  

Verification visit to Nagaland House in Navi Mumbai

Kohima, August 29 (MExN): The Chairman of the Committee on Government Assurances (2023-2024), Kuzholuzo Nienu, has scheduled an On-the-Spot Verification visit to assess the status of Nagaland House in Navi Mumbai from September 20 to 23. All members of the Committee have been urged to make necessary arrangements to participate in this visit.

TR Zeliang extends Onam greetings

Kohima, August 29 (MExN): Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang has extended greetings to Malayalis and Keralites on the occasion of Onam festival. TR Zeliang said Onam festival is an important event in the life of Malayalis and Keralites as it is celebrated with enthusiasm and splendor to mark new harvest and invoke blessing for prosperity. TR Zeliang conveyed his best wishes to all members of the two communities.

GSUCD informs

Chümoukedima, August 29 (MExN): The Gorkha students of Chümoukedima district who have appeared Under Graduate, Post Graduate, Nursing, Engineering and PhD etc Examination 2023 have been informed that the felicitation programme for the passed out students organised by Gorkha Students’ Union Chümoukedima District (GSUCD) will be held on September 5 during Teachers Day celebration of GSUCD. Students concerned have been requested to come to the function to receive the certificate of appreciation. They are also asked to submit marksheet on or before September 1.
