
81st anniversary of Quit India Movement in Kohima
Kohima, August 6 (MExN): The All India Freedom Fighters & Successors Organization, Nagaland State Unit has decided to observe 81st Anniversary of Quit India Movement on August 9 at 10: 00 AM in the office premises of AIFFSO NSU Kohima. All concerned have been requested to attend the same. This was stated in a release issued by T Chonben Kikon, Publicity Secretary, AIFFSO NSU, Kohima.
Nagaland CM condoles
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 6 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has expressed sadness at the passing of Dr T Lhouvi Nakhro, former Principal Director of Health & Family Welfare on August 6. A press release from the CM said that late Dr Nakhro was “a sincere, straightforward and hardworking medical doctor, and an officer.” “He served the State Government in various capacities with passion and dedication. Indeed, he was a cool-headed person who would patiently carry out his assignments without complaints. Besides his professional life, he was known to be helpful and considerate to anyone in need, that even after his retirement he was engaged in community service,” the CM added. Rio further extended condolences to the bereaved family.
Rengma Officers’ Forum elects new office bearers
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 6 (MExN): The 19th general body meeting of the Rengma Officers’ Forum (ROF) was held on Augsut 5 at Baptist Higher Secondary School, Tseminyu with Ar. Jwenga Seb, MLA & Chairman DPDB Tseminyu as the special guest. Dignitaries included Er Tesinlo Semy, President Rengma Hoho; Dr Tinojongshi Chang, Deputy Commissioner Tseminyu; Kenneth Kath, President Rengma Selo Zi; and Rev Haiwalo Apon, Executive Secretary, Council of Rengma Baptist Churches. The change of guard happened in the afternoon business session with Awa Lorin, outgoing President ROF handing over charge to the incoming President Er. Chengato Kath. Rev Fr G L Khing led the induction prayer for the newly formed ROF team for the tenure 2023-26:
