Compulsory dustbins in Dimapur shops
Dimapur, August 26 (MExN): All traders under Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) jurisdiction are informed to keep a dustbin compulsorily outside their respective shops and to clean their premises till the edge of the footpath in front of their shops or surroundings. Albert Ezung, Administrator, DMC stated in a press release that failure to comply with this order will invite penal action including fines and may even lead to cancellation of trade license. “This order will come into force with immediate effect and your full co-operation in this matter is solicited from all the traders,” he added.
Seven ‘Sealed Area’ demarcated in Kohima
Kohima, August 26 (MExN): ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa has notified that in view of the detection of COVID-19 positive person residing at the following locations, the area defined below is demarcated as ‘Sealed Area’ in order to contain the spread of the disease/infection and for necessary contact tracing. The ‘Sealed Area’ includes a house in Tinpatti Colony; a house in Lower Bayavü Colony; a house in Tsiesema Old Village; a house in Officer’s Hill Colony; ahouse in Old Minister’s Hill, Kohima; a residence in Middle PWD; and Forest Department Residential Complex, Forest Colony, Kohima. “All movement of person/vehicles within the defined ‘Sealed Area’ is strictly restricted/prohibited and under active surveillance with effect from the Date of sealing,” the ADC stated in the order.
TNAI Nagaland condemns alleged assault on doctor
Dimapur, August 26 (MExN): The Trained Nurses' Association of India (TNAI) Nagaland Branch has expressed shock over the alleged assault on Dr Atoka Wotsa by police personnel on August 21. “This is a challenging time for the health care workers who have not been getting sleep for weeks end, not meeting our family members while taking that extra mile for the welfare of the community,” TNAI Nagaland Branch stated in the condemnation note. The Association while condemning such incidences especially in the recent COVID-19 times urged the government to take strict action against the erring personnel. It also extended prayer and moral support for its endeavours in the fight for justice and protection.
MKSU appeals to provide good quality road
Phek, August 26 (MExN): The Middle Khomi Students’ Union (MKSU) while appreciating to the Central Government for the mega project of two-lane road from Pfütsero-Phek under SARDP has appealed to the concern companies and department to discharge its duties sincerely and provide good quality road which will facilitate long term benefit. The MKSU in a press release express its dismayed over the Madhucon Company (Bima Developer Pvt. Ltd.) for turning deaf ear toward their request. “Despite of our appeal, the Company still persistently constructing a retaining wall in an unstable land fill up in many areas which will only last for a short season,” MKSU release stated. In this regard, the Union has apprised the concern company that “any improper and unstandardized road within our village jurisdiction will not be acceptable.” MKSU has also sought public support and co-operation for timely completion of the road without causing any hindrances.
