completes seminars in 4 districts
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 15 (MExN): A series of one-day seminars, organized by FOCUS-Nagaland in collaboration with Pinnacle Skills, concluded successfully across Mon, Longleng, Kiphire, and Zunheboto districts from December 5 to 11. The events saw the participation of over 200 farmers. The seminars featured sessions on agricultural marketing, food processing, and the maintenance of farming tools and machinery. Renathung Ezung, a retired pilot and member of the BAN Committee on Import/Export and Logistics, highlighted the importance of agricultural marketing, market linkages, and the role of cold chain infrastructure, such as refrigerated vans, in preserving produce. Kevirheicha Savino from Warehouse 103, Dimapur, conducted demonstrations on food processing and preservation, showcasing emerging trends and opportunities in the sector. Meanwhile, Rohit Singh of Tool Mart, Dimapur, provided insights into the efficient maintenance and timely servicing of agricultural tools and machinery. The program aimed to equip farmers with practical knowledge and skills to enhance productivity and sustainability in their agricultural practices.
ZSUN to host 63rd convention
PEREN, DECEMBER 15 (MExN): The Zeliang Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) has announced the upcoming 63rd Convention and the induction ceremony of new office bearers for the 2024-2027 term. The event is scheduled to take place on December 21. The convention will celebrate the accomplishments of the union in recent years while formally introducing the newly elected office bearers who will lead the union through its future endeavors, a press release informed. The event will be hosted in Ngwalwa Village, which offers a culturally rich setting that resonates with the heritage of the Zeliang community. Distinguished speakers from various educational and political sectors will share their insights and vision for empowering the Zeliang community and its youth. Members from the federating units of Zeliang Students’ Union, along with invited guests, are encouraged to attend the convention. This gathering will not only mark an important event in the union’s history but will also help shape its future direction.
FGN appoints Lotha Region supervisor
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 15 (MExN): The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has appointed E Thungbemo Ngullie. s/o Ekyimo Ngulllie of Old Changsu village as the caretaker/supervisor of Lotha Region until the induction of the new full-fledged Midan Peyu for the period of six months. According to an appointment Azha (order) issued by Brig. (Retd) S. Singnya, Kedahge, FGN, the appointment shall come into force with effect from December 11. On submission of his joining report, the Azha shall remain in power till the expiry of the mentioned period.
ARPS Kohima Pre-Christmas celebration
KOHIMA, DECEMBER 15 (MExN): The Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS) Kohima today hosted Pre-Christmas celebration for its students, spreading the spirit of joy, love, and togetherness. The event, held on the school premises, was marked by vibrant activities and warm festive cheer. The celebration commenced with the singing of melodious Christmas carols by the teachers. A special highlight of the event was the symbolic arrival of Santa Claus, who brought an abundance of joy and excitement among the young students. Santa distributed sweets and gifts to all the children, leaving radiant smiles on their faces. The gesture of sharing and giving symbolized the true essence of Christmas, fostering a sense of community and happiness, according to a release issued by HQ IGAR (N).
Veterinary College Jalukie students
trained on hygienic meat production
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 15 (MExN): A group of 26 intern students from the Veterinary College Jalukie participated in a specialized training program on hygienic meat production at the National Research Centre on Meat (NRCM), Hyderabad. The training, held from November 25 to December 2 focused on modern techniques in meat processing, value addition, and best practices for producing quality meat. Organized by NRCM, a leading institute in meat research in India, the fully-funded program aimed to equip the students with practical skills and entrepreneurial knowledge in the field.
