Dak Adalat scheduled for public grievances on postal matters

Kohima, December 13 (MExN): The Department of Posts, Nagaland, has announced that a Dak Adalat for addressing public grievances regarding postal services will be held on December 27 at 11:00 AM in the chamber of the Director of Postal Services, Nagaland, Kohima. Citizens are encouraged to submit their complaints, grievances, or suggestions related to postal services by sending them to the Office of the Director of Postal Services, Nagaland Division, Kohima – 797001, or via email at dpsnagaland@gmail.com by December 27, 2024.

Losami DU to hold 32nd general session

Kohima, December 13 (MExN): The Losami Drivers’ Union (LDU) will be holding its 32nd general session on December 26, 2024 at 9:30 AM at Ledepfu. Wepe Mekrisuh, chairman Kohima Losami Union will be the opening guest. LDU president Kewekhazo Tsido requested all the drivers under LDU and well wishers to join the session. LDU was founded by Neipetsu Akami on December 26, 1992. Presently, the Union has 220 members.

Public Accounts Committee meeting rescheduled

Kohima, December 13 (MExN): Mhathung Yanthan, MLA and Chairman of the Committee on Public Accounts, has announced the rescheduling of the Oral Evidence Meeting originally planned for December 17 and 18. The meeting has been postponed to the second week of January 2025. The exact date and further details of the rescheduled meeting will be communicated at a later time, a press release informed.

ANCSU, ACAUT mourn Kezhokhoto Savi's demise

Dimapur, December 13 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) and the Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) Nagaland expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Lt. Kezhokhoto Savi, a respected educationist and passionate anti-corruption activist. ANCSU, in a condolence message, remembered Professor Savi as a true educationist and influential leader whose life was dedicated to serving humanity with humility and dignity. "His untiring effort and sacrifices towards the upliftment of the students' community and society will be sorely missed and fondly remembered for all times to come," ANCSU stated. Professor Savi, who served as Former Tribunal General (1999-2000), President of the Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organization (NVCO), Convener of ACAUT Nagaland Legal Cell, and Assistant Professor at Kohima Law College, was lauded for his invaluable contributions towards the betterment of education in the state and beyond. His unwavering dedication to the well-being of the student community and society has left an indelible mark, it added. ACAUT Nagaland, mourning his loss, highlighted his significant role as an anti-corruption activist. As the Convenor of ACAUT Nagaland’s Legal Cell and President of NVCO, Savi was instrumental in exposing numerous corrupt practices and raising public awareness about consumer rights. His relentless advocacy for transparency and accountability has been a driving force in the fight against corruption in Nagaland, the organization noted. Both ANCSU and ACAUT extended their heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and all those touched by Professor Savi’s life and legacy. "May his soul rest in eternal peace," they concluded.
