NSCN (R) to continue with ‘no donation’ Christmas and New Year

Dimapur, December 5 (MExN): The NSCN (R) on Saturday stated that it would “continue to uphold the sanctity of Christian Principles” and will not seek or ask for any Christmas and New Year's donations.
Christmas/New Year is a time for giving and not taking, the NSCN (R) stated in a press release issued by its MIP.
It added that these principles are reminded to its cadres and members from time to time during ‘Remedial and Political classes’ and “any such incidents are most likely to be imposters, masquerading as NSCN (R).”
However, if any individual or cadre is found to be involved in such activities and bringing disrepute, the NSCN (R) cautioned that they would be dealt with an ‘iron hand’.
It also requested all concerned to immediately report any such activities to the 'Competent Authority(s)' without any compunction.
The NSCN (R) also extended Christmas and New Year greetings to everyone.

One arrested in Dimapur

Dimapur, December 5 (MExN): The Dimapur police arrested one person identified as Vikheho Yeptho (57 yrs) Rajepiyu of NSCN (U) while collecting illegal tax from business establishment at Super Market area, Dimapur on December 5. Cash amount of Rs 5000 was recovered/ seized from his possession. In this connection a case has been registered at East Police Station Dimapur, the Dimapur Police PRO informed in a press release on Saturday.

One NNC (PB) cadre apprehended in Peren

Peren, December 5 (MExN): Security forces reported the arrest of one cadre of the NNC (PB) in general area Ahthibung, Peren district on December 2. 
Based on specific input, Security forces along with Police representatives launched an operation and apprehended the individual, recovering one .22 Automatic Rifle with magazine, four live rounds ammunition and a number of incriminating documents relating to NNC (PB), along with a banned psychotropic substance, a press release from the HQ IGAR (N) informed. The apprehended person along with the recovered items has been handed over to Ahthibung Police station, for further investigation, it added.

Security forces apprehend arms supplier

Kohima, December 5 (MExN): The Spear Corps troops of Indian Army and Assam Rifles at the outskirts of Naharkatia in Assam apprehended “one of the main arms and ammunition supplier of NSCN (K), operating in the Assam-Nagaland border areas,” on December 4.
“He was apprehended along with a 7.62 mm Pistol & three live rounds near Abhaipuria Gaon, Joypur, Naharkatia,” a statement from the PRO (Def) stated.
The apprehended insurgent and recoveries were handed over to Naharkatia Police for further investigation, it added.

Peren DTF meeting on Dec 7

Peren, December 5 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, has informed all concerned members that the District Task Force (DTF) for COVID-19 and District Level for administration of COVID-19 vaccine meeting has been convened on the December 7 after the District Planning and Development Board meeting in the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner, Peren. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.
