
PM Modi congratulates Nagaland on completion of 25 yrs of Hornbill Festival
KOHIMA, DECEMBER 6 (MExN): Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has congratulated the people of Nagaland on completion of 25 years of Hornbill Festival. He also conveyed his best wishes and expressed happiness on the festival’s focus on waste management and sustainability. Modi recalled fond memories from his visit to the festival a few years ago and urged others to visit it and experience the vibrancy of Naga culture. Sharing a post on X by Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, the Prime Minister wrote, “My best wishes for the ongoing Hornbill Festival and congratulations to the people of Nagaland on this lively festival completing 25 years. I am also glad to see the focus on waste management and sustainability during this year’s festival. I have fond memories from my own visit to this Festival a few years ago and I urge others to visit it and experience the vibrancy of Naga culture.”
Ao Senden emergency meeting
MOKOKCHUNG, DECEMBER 6 (MExN): The Ao Senden has convened an emergency executive meeting on December 9 at Aor Kilem, Mokokchung town at 11 AM. Informing this in a press note, Ao Senden president Marsanen Imsong and general secretary Imtipokyim has requested all members to attend the meeting positively.
NFHRCC convenes emergency meet
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 6 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has convened a mandatory emergency meeting at Kher Mahal, Dimapur on December 7 at 10 am. A press note issued by NFHRCC said the meeting has been called pertaining to the issuance of work order for the Foothills Road construction project. Therefore, all the Committee members have been urged to attend the meet positively.
Winter Night Carnival 2024 from Dec 17

Advent Christmas service at Naga Heritage Village on Dec 8
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 6 (MExN): The Nagaland Joint Christian Fellowship (NJCF) will conduct an Advent Christmas service to herald the birth of Jesus Christ at the Naga Heritage Village at Kisama on December 8. The service will begin from 10 AM. The program will include greetings from the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Christmas message will be delivered by Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho, Advisor NJCF and General Secretary NBCC . There will be song presentation from various artists and choirs. During the worship all the Morungs will be closed.
Gauhati HC suspends Mon District Judge
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 6 (MExN): The Gauhati High Court has placed Inalo Zhimomi, District and Sessions Judge of Mon under suspension with immediate effect, pending the initiation of departmental proceedings. As per the official notification dated December 4, Zhimomi has been directed to hand over the charge of his court and office to the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mon. The notification further specified that his headquarters will be in Kohima, Nagaland, and he is prohibited from leaving the headquarters without prior permission from the authorities. The suspension order, signed by Registrar General Sunil Kumar Poddar, has been communicated to relevant government departments, including the Nagaland Department of Judicial and Law, the Accountant General’s office, and the Kohima Bench of the Gauhati High Court. Instructions have also been issued to publish the notification in the Nagaland Gazette and upload it on the official website of the Gauhati High Court. It did not reveal the grounds for suspending the judge.
