
DNSU invites local artists for ‘Share the Joy’ project
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 8 (MExN): The Dimapur Naga Students' Union (DNSU) and its constituent units have extended an open invitation to local artists to participate in the upcoming "Share the Joy" program. Scheduled for December 15 at 3 pm, the event will take place at the State Stadium in Dimapur. The "Share the Joy" initiative seeks to spread love, kindness, and support to underprivileged and needy members of the community. DNSU encourages participation from civil society organizations, the general public, and local artists to showcase their talents through singing, dancing, stand-up comedy, or cultural performances. KSUD holds 32nd General Session
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 8 (MExN): The Khiamniungan Students’ Union Dimapur (KSUD) held its 32nd General Session on December 7 at Premier Lodge, Agri Expo, under the theme “Scaling New Heights.” The event was graced by Benei M Lamthio, Hon'ble MLA and DPDB Chairman of Noklak, Government of Nagaland, as the chief guest. In his address, Lamthio inspired the students with the quote, “Destiny is not a chance but a choice,” and highlighted the significance of unity, perseverance, and hard work as vital qualities for both personal and community development. During the session, the new team of office bearers for the 2025-2026 term was inducted. Muno Shiu was appointed as the new President, while Batso Daniel assumed the role of General Secretary.
Peren Police issues notice on shooting practice
Peren, December 8 (MExN): The Superintendent of Police, Peren, has announced that 'F' Coy of the 11th NAP (IR) will conduct shooting practice on December 9 and 10, at the Firing Range located within the Police Reserve in Peren. The practice sessions will commence at 6:30 AM on both days. Residents in areas surrounding the Firing Range have been advised to exercise caution during this period. Authorities have been requested to inform villagers nearby to avoid venturing into the designated areas. Additionally, steps should be taken to prevent cattle from straying into the range to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.
NNC (PB) condoles
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 8 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) PB, under the leadership of President Z. Royim and General Secretary Akiuba, has expressed deep condolences over the demise of former Minister K. Zungkum, who passed away on December 6. In a condolence message, Z. Royim highlighted K. Zungkum's lifelong dedication to the people of Nagaland. "He worked tirelessly for the welfare and progress of the state," Royim stated, further noting Zungkum’s significant contributions to the Yimkhiung community and his active role in various organizations. “His contributions will always be remembered for the growth and progress of the people he served and represented,” the message added. Extending their sympathies to the bereaved family, the NNC (PB) said, “Your loss is deeply felt, and we hope you find comfort in the support of those around you. Sending healing prayers and comfort during this tough time.”
