Dimapur: Shops informed to open on Sundays from December 6

Dimapur, December 3 (MExN): In view of the forthcoming festive season of Christmas and New Year, the Caretaker, CAO, Union Territory (UT) of the NSCN (IM) on Thursday informed all stores/shops and business establishments to remain open on all Sundays in Dimapur with effect from December 6 until further notice. “This information is served to facilitate the general public to have their best time for shopping during this festive season,” the Caretaker CAO stated in a press release.  He also extended warm Christmas and New Year greetings to the people.

Evidence meeting with Tourism dept on Dec 11

Kohima, December 3 (MExN): The Commissioner & Secretary, Nagaland Legislative Assembly Dr P J Anthony on Thursday informed that the evidence meeting with the departmental representatives of Tourism has been fixed for December 11 in the Committee Room of the Assembly Secretariat at 11:00 am. All the members of the Estimates Committee have been requested to attend the meeting.

Firecrackers prohibited in Zunheboto

Zunheboto, December 3 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto Peter Lichamo has issued an order informing all concerned that the sale, purchase and bursting of firecrackers is totally prohibited in Zunheboto district till further order. In this regard, the DC informed all the concerned to comply with the order, failing which, action will be taken as per relevant sections of law.

NSCN (IM) mourns demise of member

Dimapur, December 3 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) on Thursday grieved the demise of Phyochamo Patton, Razou Peyu of NSCN/GPRN from Old Riphyim village under Lotha Region on the December 2. He enrolled in the Naga national service in 2011 and served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise. The void created by his demise would be difficult to fill in, the NSCN (IM) stated in a press statement issued by its MIP. It further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and friends of late Phyochamo Patton and prayed for God to grant eternal peace to his soul.

One NSCN (KN) cadre apprehended

Dimapur, December 3 (MExN): The Assam Rifles on Thursday reported the arrest of an individual identified as a cadre of the NSCN (KN) in general area Nuiland on November 30. A press release from the HQ IGAR (N) informed that based on specific input, security forces along with Police representatives launched an operation and apprehended the individual, recovering 2 Air Rifles, two .22 Rifle butts, 2 telescopic sights, 60 rounds of live ammunition of .22, seven rounds of live ammunition of 7.62mm (303 Rifle), 18 rounds of live ammunition of 12 Bore Rifle, 1490 pellets of Air Rifle and one silencer assembly. The apprehended person along with the recovered items has been handed over to Nuiland Police station, for further investigation, the release added.
