Restriction on heavy vehicles at Longpong Bridge 
Mokokchung, February 15 (MExN): A portion of the deck slab of Longpong Bridge between Longjang and Kilengmen along Asetkong-Tsusangra (AT) Road has been damaged posing danger to the public traversing the road, therefore, the movement of all HMV (Heavy Motor Vehicles), HGMV (Heavy Goods Motor Vehicle), and HPMV (Heavy passenger Motor Vehicle) on the bridge shall be restricted for a period of 29 days with immediate effect from February 17 in order to facilitate in carrying out the necessary repairing works. 

In an order, the Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji said that only Light Motor Vehicles (LMV) shall be allowed to pass through the bridge during the stipulated time. Further, concerned Area Administrative Officers along with other law enforcing agencies are to monitor the aforementioned directive. 

“Non Adherence shall invite penal action as per the relevant section of the law,” the order added. 

NNC & FGN meet on Feb 26

Kohima, February 15 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) and the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) will hold its monthly meeting on February 26 at 10:00 am in Transit Peace Camp, Kohima. Therefore, all the Central Authorities, Regional Authorities, Naga Army officers and eligible ranks and files of the NNC/FGN have been requested to positively attend the meeting. This was informed in a press release issued by Minister of Rali Wali, FGN.

Renewal, registration of trade license in Medziphema town

Medziphema, February 15 (MExN): All business establishments under Medziphema Town Council jurisdiction have been informed that renewal of trade license and registration with revised rates for the current year has started and will be closed on February 28. “It is also informed to renew Trade License within the stipulated time to avoid late fine,” P James Swu, ADC & Administrator, MTC stated in a press release. Further all the shop owners have been directed to display their sign board with name and type of the firm, Trade License number etc and defaulters shall be fined Rs 100 on the spot.

Symposium on India Myanmar border issue in Dimapur today

Dimapur, February 15 (MExN): Nagaland Indigenous Peoples Forum (NIPF) is organising a symposium on India Myanmar border issue, Reconsidering Free Movement Regime (FMR) and border fencing on February 16 at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur at 4:00 pm. “CSO members from all Northeast states including Nagaland will share their valuable opinion and views on the topic thoroughly followed by panel of discussion on the burning issue,” Richard Haolai, General Secretary, NIPF stated in a press release. Dr T Lima Jamir, President NIPF will chair the programme and Rev S Vitoshe, Sr Pastor Sumi Baptist Church Dimapur will invoke the blessing.
