Governor greets on Bishu festival

Kohima, January 26 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan has extended Bishu festival greetings to all Kachari brothers and sisters as they celebrate the festival. Bishu festival is a Post- harvest festival and thanks giving to Almighty God for bountiful harvest. It is a festival that showcases the rich cultural heritage with vibrant dances, songs and traditional rituals. “May this festival promote better unity and understanding amongst the people of all ages and social status. Let us realize the strength of our collective efforts to promote and preserve cultural festivities, and our rich histories for the benefit of the future generations. On this auspicious festival, I wish everyone a joyous, good health, peace and prosperous life,” the Governor stated in a press note.

NSCN/GPRN-K (Khango) condoles

Dimapur, January 26 (MExN): NSCN/GPRN-K (Khango) has condoled the demise of Hekiye T Chophy, of Shichimi village, father-in-law of Hokato Vusshe, Ato Kilonser NSCN/ GPRN (K) on January 25 at Dimapur. In a press release, the MIP stated that late Hekiye was a fatherly figure who has been respected for his determination towards the upliftment of the people. His demise is a great loss and deeply felt by the people for whom he had made many remarkable social and political contributions during his life time, it stated. NSCN/GPRN-K (Khango) has conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prays the Almighty God to grant solace in this grief time. “May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” it added. 

NSCN/GPRN (Niki) terminates one

Dimapur, January 26 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) has terminated Yamto Khiam, Tatar hailing from Kinjung village from active service on the ground of “involvement in anti-government activities and for tarnishing the good image of government.” The MIP in a press release said “a termination letter issued from the office of Ato Kilonser, NSCN/GPRN stated this order comes into force with immediate effect.”

CHOGARÜKI 50 years anniversary on Jan 27

Kohima, January 26 (MExN): The Chozuba, Gariphema, Rüsoma and Kijümetouma (CHOGARÜKI) is celebrating 50 years anniversary of peace and friendship on January 27 at Kijümetouma in Kohima District. The programme will start from 10:00 am onwards.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will grace the celebration as the special guest while Küdecho Khamo, advisor, CAWD & Taxes will be the guest of honour.
Rev.Dr.Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary, Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) will invoke God’s blessing during the inauguration of Jubilee Monolith.
The 50 years Anniversary of CHOGARÜKI is a celebration of Peace and Friendship of the four villages who were reconciled through forgiveness in Christ, according to CHOGARÜKI President Jolayi Nienu.  
It invites delegates from all CHOGARÜKI villages and also from Kohima, Dimapur and Phek districts to grace this historic celebration.

GB Union Dimapur informs

Dimapur, January 26 (MExN): The Executive Members of GB Union Dimapur have been informed that the selection/election of new office bearers will be held on January 27, 10:00 am at the union office Naga Shopping Arcade, Dimapur. Therefore, all the executive members have been informed to make attend the programme without fail.

RVSU supports YAA ultimatum

Shamator, January 26 (MExN): The Rurur Village Students’ Union (RVSU) has extended support to the Yimkhiung Akherü Arihako (YAA) ultimatum served to Directorate of School Education to address teacher shortage. The government schools falling within the preview of the Yimkhiung jurisdiction have been facing shortage of teachers for a long time which jeopardize the career of the students, resulting in large number of dropouts, RVSU stated in a press release. While expressing hope that the concerned department would address the demand of the YAA at the earliest, the RVSU said it will not allow GPS Rurur ‘A’ to initiate admission processes until and unless the department fulfils the demand of the YAA.
