AKMWP meet resolves
Kohima, July 10 (MExN): The Association of Kohima Municipal Wards Panchayats (AKMWP) held a meeting of AKMWP office bearers and advisors recently at Hotel 2K Kohima.
The house, during its deliberation, agreed to relieve Beizo Solo (Vice president) and Hukato Chishi (General Secretary) from their concerned posts on health ground and appointed Vibeilie Metha (information and press secretary) to the post of vice president and Lima Imsong (Joint Secretary) as general secretary.
The House also appointed James Yanthan and Kopelo Krome as its new joint secretary and information & press secretary respectively with immediate effect, till September 2025.
DMMT condemns
DIMAPUR, JULY 10 (MExN): The Dimapur Mopungchuket Mejensanger Telongjem (DMMT) has condemned the incident that occurred at Bharat Petroleum near Hotel Theja Fort on July 7. “It is shocking to learn that 5 Naga youths in their early twenties brandished a toy gun to extort money from the manager who is one of our members,” a press release from the DMMT said.
It is beyond the comprehension of a law abiding citizen and a person with conscience how such a drastic act could be committed at broad daylight when thousands of others are toiling 8-12 hours daily in different fields/jobs so as to make a decent living, the DMMT added.
Meanwhile, it lauded the Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO) for the quick complaint made to Dimapur Police and appreciated the law enforcing agency Special Operation Team (SoT), Dimapur Police for responding swiftly and arresting the culprits in a ‘record 15 minutes.’ It further appealed for “most stringent punishment” against the perpetrators.
ANEFWA meeting on July 15
Kohima, June 10 (MExN): The All Nagaland Electricity Field Workers Association (ANEFWA) informed all the zonal president and secretaries to attend the first executive meeting of the new tenure of ANEFWA (Central) on July 15 at 11:00 PM at Hotel Cimorb, Old Minister Hill Kohima.
ANEFWA president and general secretary have requested all the zonal presidents and secretaries to attend the said meeting without fail. The meeting will discuss various important matters relating to the association.
