NSCN/GPRN (Khango) recovers scooty

DIMAPUR, JULY 17 (MExN): The NSCN/ GPRN (Khango) Union Territory (UT) today informed that it has recovered one Scooty (NL-07M 9382) bearing chassis number MB8CF4CABG8737237 and engine number F4862911056.  A press release from the MIP of the NSCN/GPRN (Khango) said UT Secretary K Achumi , has informed the rightful owner to claim the scooty  by producing original documents  to the Union Territory  office within 7 days. 

SDO (C) Mon cautions fraudulent calls

MON, JULY 17 (MExN): SDO (C) Mon, Rongsenmenla, NCS has cautioned the public of Mon district that as received from Nagaland State Social Welfare Board, Nagaland, Kohima, scammers have been calling or sending text messages claiming to be officials from the PMMVY office, and attempts have been made to hack bank accounts. These calls do not originate from the PMMVY cell, a notice issued through the DIPR stated. Bank account details are never asked over the phone, and no QR codes are sent, it added. Those who receive these calls can report to District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) or call the Women Helpline (9485239098).

Unidentified dead body recovered at Lahorijan

DIMAPUR, JULY 17 (MExN): An unidentified dead body was found at Lahorijan along National Highway 36 patrol post under Dillai Police Station, Karbi Anglong on July 17. The Dillai Police informed that the deceased was wearing a black t shirt and blue long pants. The body is being kept at the Diphu medical morgue.

WBC & LVC resolve to co-operate with dist admin on LBCA issue

DIMAPUR, JULY 17 (MExN): The Wokha Village Council and the Longsa Village Council held a joint meeting on July 16 reiterating an earlier resolution to support and co-operate with the district administration as per the norms/procedure/ guidelines pertaining the LBCA imbroglio. The two councils resolved that any individuals/groups (i.e. WTBC/Tchuphyangza/Samyan/Tiyichan) Churches who create “unwanted situation by resorting to any sort of violence disturbing the peaceful environment of the community within Wokha Town areas," will have action proceeded against them. The house also agreed that, the councils will be in coordination in all forms and if any members face any threat/problems both councils will initiate appropriate actions and reward befitting punishment. 

WYH condemns

DIMAPUR, JULY 17 (MExN): The Western Yimkhiung Hoho (WYH) has condemned the sexual assault committed against a minor on July 9 at Tsiesema. The organisation expressed dissatisfaction at the inability of the law enforcement agency to apprehend the culprit till now and appealed for fast track measures to nab the culprit at the earliest and award befitting punishment. Further, the organisation requested every right thinking individual, societies and communities to come forward in unison and condemn this kind of heinous crimes at the highest level. The Hoho further extended full support to the victimised child and her family and asked the Nagaland Government to assure appropriate steps.
