Refrain for conducting exams during Tuluni festival: WSSU 

Dimapur, July 6 (MExN): The Western Sumi Students' Union(WSSU), on July 6, has appealed  schools, colleges and universities to refrain from conducting exams during Tuluni festival, celebrated on July 8.

“Tuluni is an important festival of the Sumi tribe and it is not only a restricted holiday but a significant customary festive practiced over the years by the Sumi Naga,” the union stated in a press release from its media cell.

Accordingly, the WSSU requested the concerned authorities to refrain from conducting any events during the festival in the interest of students’ community. 

Unidentified dead body recovered at Chathe river

Dimapur, July 6 (MExN): A dead body of an unidentified man was recovered in a decomposing state, from Chathe river, behind the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research on July 6, informed an official release. The deceased (30-40 yrs approx) was wearing a black half-pant.

‘No any foul play could be ascertained currently and is highly suspected to be a case of drowning, stated the release issued by the PRO Dimapur police. 

Inquest was conducted over the dead body and on completion of all legal formalities, the deceased was shifted to District Hospital Dimapur Morgue for PM examination and identification, it added. 

The police further requested the claimant, relatives or friends of the deceased are to contact Officer-in-Charge, Chümoukedima PS (Contact No.7085065161) for any related query.
