38 soap case of heroin seized at Khuzama 

DIMAPUR, JULY 25 (MExN): The Excise Department manning Khuzama Inter-State check gate on July 22 seized 380 grams (approximate) of suspected Heroin worth Rs 9,50,000 (nine lakhs fifty thousand) at street value. The Excise duty party headed by Assistant Inspector Pusukhong, while conducting routine checking of vehicles, intercepted a truck bearing registration No NL-07AA0049 and on searching the vehicle recovered 38 soap cases containing suspected heroin from the cabin of the truck, a press release issued by the Assistant Commissioner of Excise informed.  In this connection, one person identified as Peter Eshena (age 33 yrs) who is the driver of the vehicle was arrested and the case has been registered u/s.21 (c) & 60 of the NDPS Act 85.

CTS on lack of medical specialists at DH Tuensang

DIMAPUR, JULY 25 (MExN): The Changsao Thangjam Setshang (Chang Women Organisation) has appealed to the Department of Health & Family Welfare to depute or appoint medical specialists including an Anaesthetist, Orthopedic, Surgeon and Pediatrician at the District Hospital Tuensang at the earliest.  A press release received from the CTS said it would be compelled to use its constitutional rights to enforce its course of action if their appeal is not heeded to. The CTS had detected the lack of the mentioned medical specialists when its officials led by president C Asenla paid a visit to the District Hospital on July 24, the press release stated.  The CTS meanwhile, extended gratitude to the present staffs for their efforts in keeping the hospital at par with the other hospitals in the state.

Will not allow CSS for Niuland dist to be diverted: NDGBA

DIMAPUR, JULY 25 (MExN): The Niuland District GBs Association (NDGBA) on Tuesday stated that any Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) or projects approved and sanctioned for Niuland District will under no circumstances be allowed to be diverted to other districts for implementation.  This was a resolution made during the NDGBA meeting regarding CSS/projects in Niuland district on July 15, a representation addressed to the Deputy Commissioner, a copy of which was also made available to the media, stated.  Should the government fail to honour this resolution, the NDGBA said it will not remain silent and would be compelled to take necessary action. 

Tuensang dist BLOs trained on special summary revision 

DIMAPUR, JULY 25 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer of Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa organized training for Tuensang district BLOs related to the special summary revision of photo electoral roll with respect to January 1, 2024 as the qualifying date, and a hands-on training of BLO App on July 25 at CKS Conference Hall, Tuensang. 
In her introductory note, Lithrongla stressed the importance of rationalization of polling stations, deletion of proxy voters, and enrolment of new voters as per the qualifying date of January 1, 2024. AEO Tuensang Nilo Katiry gave a power point presentation on special summary revision with respect to January 1, 2024 as the qualifying date, the proposal of new polling stations, and the BLO App.
