
DC Kohima clarifies on ILP issuance
KOHIMA, AUGUST 3 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Shanavas C IAS has issued a clarification regarding the issuance and regulation of Inner Line Permits (ILP). The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that according to the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873, the issuing, enforcing, and regulation of ILPs falls exclusively under the purview of the District Administration. Any actions or dealings contrary to this regulation are considered illegal. The DC directed all village councils and wards to adhere to this regulation and to abstain from any activities related to ILP issuance or enforcement, or any other form of permit issuance that goes against this mandate.
Nagaland Police informs on fake recruitment post
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 3 (MExN): The Nagaland Police Department has informed that a misleading post about recruitment opportunities within the Nagaland Police Department has been circulating across various social media platforms. The department informed all citizens that the advertised recruitment information is not genuine. When official recruitment processes are initiated, the public is advised to await an official press release through the official Facebook page, the department informed in a notice issued through the DIPR.
Power Dept notifies on charging of line at Pfutsero
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 3 (MExN): The Power Department has informed that with regard to construction of 33KV line from 132/33KV Substation (New) located at Rukizu colony, Pfutsero to existing 33/11KV sub-station located at Riku colony, Pfutsero, the line passing through the NH 29 and along the bypass road from Rukizu colony to the Medical colony, was completed and would be test charged at the rated voltage at 8:00 am on August 8 and would remain charged thereafter. The public have been informed not to touch the said line and be cautious while going near the line. The department shall not be held responsible to any untoward incident that occurs after this press release, said the Executive Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Phek in a notice.
UGC alerts regarding fake universities/institutions
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 3 (MExN): The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a notification addressing students, parents, and the general public regarding the authenticity of universities and institutions. The UGC emphasized that only universities/institutions established under legal acts (State, Central, or Provincial) or those authorized by the UGC Act of 1956 have the authority to confer degrees. The UGC has identified instances of institutions awarding degrees contrary to its provisions. It is vital to note that degrees from such unrecognized institutions will not be acknowledged for higher education or employment purposes, it added. The Secretary of UGC, Ministry of Education, Government of India, Prof. Manish Joshi, has urged individuals to consult the UGC website (www.ugc.ac.in) for a list of recognized institutions. If any institution is suspected of operating against UGC regulations, individuals are encouraged to report this via email to ugcampc@gmail.com for appropriate action.
76th Anniversary of Nagaland Independence Declaration
Kohima, August 3 (MExN): The FGN Ministry of Rali Wali has informed that the Naga National Council (NNC) and the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) will celebrate the 76th Anniversary of Nagaland Independence Declaration at Central level on August 14 at 10:00 am in Transit Peace Camp (TPC), Kohima, Nagaland. “All the fellow countrymen” have been requested to participate in the function. Further, it is urged to all Midan Peyus and Regional Presidents of the NNC/FGN to celebrate this historic day in their respective Regions, Sub-Regions and Villages.
Hada Rengma Basti area meeting
Karbi Anglong, August 3 (MExN): All the land holders in and around the Hada Rengma Basti area Khatkhati Bokajan Karbi Anglong, Assam have been informed that there will be a general meeting in pertaining to Solar Plant projects which effecting the areas and its surrounding villages. KMC notifies business establishments
Kohima, August 3 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has reminder all business establishments, traders within Kohima municipality to avail Sunday permit by August 10 from the KMC Administrator office after obtaining No Objection from the Ward chairman. Any business establishment/shop found doing business without permit on Sundays will be penalised. Further, all business establishments/institutions within KMC jurisdiction are directed to renew their Trade Licence on or before August 31. Failure to comply will automatically lead to cancellation of their Trade Licence, KMC Administrator, T Lanusenla Longkumer notified.
NSCN/GPRN (Khango) mourns
Dimapur, August 3 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Khango) has mourned the demise of Capt Chisai Chakhesang, Army No. 18080 of UT-1 Region, who passed away on August 2 after prolonged illness. Chisai Chakhesang enrolled in the Naga national service in 2018 and served the nation wholeheartedly with full commitment and spirit of patriotism for the cause of the Naga national movement till his last breath, the NSCN/GPRN (Khango) stated in a press release. “His remarkable service records and commitment for the Naga nation shall ever be cherished in the annals of the Naga history,” it added while conveying condolences to the bereaved family members. It also prayed for the departed soul to “rest in eternal peace.”
One unidentified body found in Dimapur
Dimapur, August 3 (MExN): One unidentified male (45-50 yrs approx) dead body was found lying dead on the road side near DMC Office Dimapur. The Dimapur Police in an update informed that on completion of all legal formalities the dead body was shifted to District Hospital Dimapur Morgue for PM examination/identification. ZWS condemns alleged domestic violence
Kohima, August 3 (MExN): The Zhavame Women Society (ZWS) has vehemently condemned the heinous crime of alleged domestic violence meted upon one of its members by her husband on the night of July 26 at Pfütsero in the residence of the wife’s parents. In a press release issued by ZSW it stated that the perpetrator came home in an inebriated state and taking hold of a ‘dao’, started attacking the wife leading to severe injuries. On shouting for help, the neighbours came rushing to find her in a pool of blood and she was immediately rushed to the hospital where she is currently being treated. In this regard, the society has asserted that such a gruesome crime has no place in the Naga society and cannot be justified in any way. The society further urged the law enforcing authorities to award exemplary punishment to the perpetrator while calling upon all sections of the society to condemn the barbaric act.
