
AR prevents illegal transport of Areca Nuts, Burma teak
Kohima, July 4 (MExN): Assam Rifles prevented illegal transportation of approximately 40 tons of Areca Nuts worth approximately Rs 4.80 crore and 60 tons of Burma teak worth approx Rs 75 lakh on July 4 from Jessami-Chakabama road in Chakabama area of Nagaland. HQ IGAR (NORTH) in a press release stated that the items were being smuggled from Jessami towards Dimapur in three trucks of areca nuts and three trucks of Burma teak. The items were handed over to Custom Department, Kohima and Forest Department, Kohima for further legal proceedings, the HQ IGAR (NORTH) added.
Monglew Bridge closed for repair
Peren, July 4 (MExN): Additional Deputy Commissioner Jalukie, TL Kiusumong Tikhir has notified the general public that in view of the partial repair and restoration of Monglew Bridge between Samziuram and Saijangby PWD (R&B) Peren Division, the bridge is closed with immediate effect till further notice. The ADC Jalukie also informed the concerned general that the total restriction of vehicular movement is necessitated in order to facilitate the repair works. ADC advised the commuters to take the diversion of few meters away from the bridge, stated a DIPR report.
NMYO Kohima prayer day
Kohima, July 4 (MExN): The jubilee organising committee along with the executives of the New Market Organisation (NMYO) Kohima has called for a special prayer day for NMYO Golden Jubilee (1973-2023) on July 8 at 10:00 am. The venue for the programme will be held at the New Market Panchayat Building Kohima. Therefore, the committee has invited all the present and former office bearers of NMYO Kohima to come and bless the occasion with your presence.
Nomination for National Teachers Award
Kohima, July 4 (MExN): In pursuance of Ministry of Education, Department of School Education & Literacy Order No. F 1-23/2023-NAT dated 23rd June 2023, the web portal for online self-nomination by teachers is open from June 23 and the last date of submission is July 15. The condition of eligibility of teachers for consideration of the National Teachers Award is revised to 10 years of regular service. In this regard, teachers who have contributed to the improvement of the quality of education through their commitment and industry and also enriched the lives of their students can submit self-nominate themselves before the prescribed last date of submission. Further details may be obtained from the web portal http://nationalawardstoteachers.education.gov.in. Hence, all DEOs/Sr. SDEOs/SDEOs have been requested to ensure wide publicity in their respective jurisdictions.
