CANSSEA mourns

DIMAPUR, JULY 9 (MExN): The Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees Association (CANSSEA) has expressed sadness at the passing of former General Secretary Lanotemsu at Meriema on July 8. A press release from CANSSEA said that late Lanotemsu was one of the pioneers who played an active role in the formation of the then All Nagaland Service Association (ANSA). He was a man endowed with knowledge and vision and in his demise CANNSEA has lost a dear friend and elderly figure, it added, while extending condolences to the bereaved family. 

CSF to organise a panel discussion on Aug 5

DIMAPUR, JULY 9 (MExN): The Chakhesang Scholars Forum (CSF) in collaboration with the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) will be organising a panel discussion on the topic "Paradigm shift from degree education to value education" on August 5 at CBCC, Pfutsero.  This was decided during a meeting held between the executives of CSF and CBCC at the mission centre, Pfutsero on Saturday, a press note issued by the CSF informed.  The meeting discussed the need to explore all possibilities to improve education quality, focus more on job-oriented vocational education and more importantly, moral and value education in Chakhesang areas. The panel discussion will be held in a series manner with Pfutsero and neighbouring villages as the first programme and will be conducted in other parts of the Chakhesang area later on.  

GPRN/NSCN expresses grief

DIMAPUR, JULY 9 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has expressed grief over the demise of Seikhopao Hangsing, Kilonser who passed away on July 9 after a prolonged illness. A press release from the MIP of the GPRN/NSCN said that late Hangsing enrolled in the national service in November 1993 and served for the national cause till his demise. “In his demise, GPRN/NSCN has lost one of our active and spirited comrade. He was a true asset known not only for his dedication to his services but was also a compassionate and noble man who believes in the cause and aspiration of a Naga nation. His service and legacy for the cause of the Naga nation is very much cherished and will be fondly remembered and recorded in the pages of the Naga history,” the GPRN/NSCN stated. It further extended condolences to the bereaved family. 

Nagaland CM condoles

KOHIMA, JULY 9 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio has expressed sadness at the passing of L Pukhato Shohe, Nagaland Government registered class-I contractor at Oking Hospital, Kohima. A press release from the CM’s office said that late Pukhato was one of the pioneers of Nagaland Government Registered Class-1 Contractors’ Union and had served the Union as General Secretary for many years. “He was a sincere and hardworking contractor who always endeavoured to give priority to quality workmanship.  Besides his professional life, he was also someone who loved the Lord dearly and had served the Church in different capacities. He was outspoken and kind and was selfless to people in need,” the CM said. Rio added that his demise is a great loss to the Naga society in general and the Sumi community in particular. “The vacuum left by his demise will be difficult to fill. Though he is no longer with us, let us cherish and celebrate his life and it is my belief that his legacy will be carried on,” the CM stated while extending condolences to the bereaved family.

NNC/GDRN (NA) cautions ‘imposter’ 

DIMAPUR, JULY 9 (MExN): The NNC/GDRN (NA) has informed that a certain person by the name of Chahaohu (Under Secretary) is posing as a member of NNC/GDRN (NA) and using the official pad of the government for his personal gain and motive in Dimapur. A press release from the MIP of the NNC/GDRN (NA) said that “there is no Individual in our Government setup by such name and he is just an imposter.” The office of the Kilo Kilonser, NNC/GDRN (NA) request all business associations and well wishers to “be aware of such imposters who are tarnishing the good image of the Government.” It further cautioned the individual against such activities. 

Opening of new SBI Treasury Branch Kohima

Kohima, July 9 (MExN): The State Bank of India (SBI) under Regional Business Officer, Dimapur has informed that SBI Treasury Branch Kohima (Near Directorate Treasuries & Accounts) Kohima will be inaugurated on July 10. It will be inaugurated by J Alam, Chief Secretary, Nagaland at 11:00 AM.

Unidentified dead body recovered 
 
DIMAPUR, JULY 9 (MExN): The Dimapur Police informed that an unidentified dead body has been recovered from Station Road, Dimapur on July 8. A press release from the PRO, Dimapur Police informed that the deceased is a non-Naga male, age around 20 years (approx) and was fopund lying outside Nandan Hotel, Station Road, Dimapur, wearing a blue jean pant. The deceased was found in a sleeping position facing upwards and both the legs folded. Inquest was conducted over the dead body and no foul play could be established presently, the police said. The cause of death is highly suspected to be due to starvation and dehydration, it added. On completion of all legal formalities, the dead body has been shifted to District Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. Claimant/relatives/friends of the deceased have been asked to contact the Officer-in-Charge, East Police Station, Dimapur (7085055020).

Koinonia Prayer Centre conducts monthly revival 

Kohima, July 9 (MExN): The Koinonia Prayer Centre (KPC) Kohima held its monthly revival programme from July 7 to 9. A press release issued by Koinonia Media Ministry informed that the programme was hosted by Swedesenuo Natso, Aneno Zao, Abi Angami, Melehole Kikhi and Asabo Khatso. The main speakers of the three days revival programme were Medotseilieü Kiewhuo, Pastor, Koinonia Baptist Church, Evangelist Asi Meyase, Evangelist Ketoukholie Semou and Evangelist Pelekhotuo Rüvieo.
Speaking on Sunday evening service, Pastor Medotseilieü told the believers to be 'spiritually thirsty' adding that when a person is longing for the Holy Spirit in their life it connects a person closer to God.
Praise and worship was led by KPC Worship Team while songs were presented by Khushbu Kelio, Youth and Men's  Fellowship, Mhasilenuo Thong, Zakiephreü Semou and friends, Ruokuobeinuo Semy, Ajano Ltu, Deborah group, Evangelist Neilhou, Shakenye Kath, Dzüvivonuo Pienyü, Shürhozetuo Rutsa, Evangelist Asi and Meciekhono Pucho.
