Dimapur: Fire safety training on June 21

Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): A Fire Safety Training programme for ward, colony, and village leaders will be held at the Dimapur District Sport Council (DDSC) stadium on June 21. The training will be held from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. In this connection, M Y Ngullie, President of the GB Union Dimapur (S) informed that the training programme was being held as per the directive from the Dimapur Additional Deputy Commissioner. He informed all GB members to attend the programme as notified by the District Administration, to obtain knowledge on fire safety precaution methods during emergency periods in the service of the public in their own respective localities.

Saptiqa town platinum jubilee board meeting

Kohima, June 19 (MExN): The Planning Board meeting of ‘Saptiqa Town Platinum Jubilee’ will be held on June 25 at 10:00 AM at the residence of Hutovi Chishi, Khushiabill, Dimapur. Informing all the members to attend the said meeting, it requested the Finance Committee, Editorial Board and Construction Committee to bring their respective reports to the meeting. This was stated in a release issued by Planning Board chairman Kuputo Achumi and secretary K Shikato Sumi.

Unidentified dead body recovered in Dimapur 

Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): The Dimapur Police on June 18 recovered an unidentified dead body near the entry gate of the Railway Station, Dimapur. Inquest was conducted over the dead body and on completion of all legal formalities body was shifted to District Hospital Dimapur Morgue for port mortem examination and identification, according to a press note from the Dimapur Police PRO. The deceased, believed to be approximately 50-60 years of age, was wearing black long pant and rubber shoe. Claimants, relatives, friends of the deceased have been requested to contact Officer-in-Charge, GRPS Dimapur (Contact No 7085055021). 

NSCN (IM) mourns demise of member

Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has mourned the demise of its Sergeant Major Tamreiyo R Shimray of the Southern Command, Naga Army, who passed away on June 18. “The Adjutant General (AG) of the Naga Army has posthumously bestowed upon him the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in recognition of his service to the Naga nation,” the NSCN (IM) MIP informed in a press release. Shimray who was from Kuirei village under the Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR) enrolled in the Naga national service in December 2008 “served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise. For his selfless contributions to the Naga national cause, his name shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and he shall be remembered for all time to come,” it stated. “NSCN/GPRN conveys deep condolences to the bereaved family members of (L) 2nd Lieutenant Tamreiyo R Shimray. It is our prayers that the Almighty God will comfort his family members during this time of grief,” the MIP stated in the condolence message.

NSCN/GPRN mourns

Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN has mourned the demise of Sergeant Major Nishito Sumi of Awotsakili village in Zunheboto district on June 17 at Dimapur.  “Late Nishito Sumi was an energetic and active member of the People’s Army of Nagaland (PAN), NSCN/GPRN and served the nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise. His untimely death was a great loss for the nation and void created by his demise would be difficult to fill in,” stated a condolence message issued by the MIP, NSCN/GPRN. Stating that his selfless sacrifice towards the Naga nation would be recorded in the history of the Naga people and be cherished by all, it conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed to rest in peace.
