Committee on Subordinate Legislation meeting 

Kohima, June 28 (MExN): Dr Sukhato A Sema MLA and Chairman of the Committee on Subordinate Legislation, Nagaland Legislative Assembly has convened the Oral Evidence Meeting of the Committee on Subordinate Legislation with the Departmental Representatives of Industries & Commerce Department on the Examination of the Nagaland Industries Service Rules, 1986 on July 3 at 12:00 Noon in the Committee Room of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat. Therefore, the AHOD and HOD of the concerned Department have been informed to be present on the date and time as specified to tender Oral Evidence before the Committee. The Officials requiring an appearance before the Committee on July3 has been impressed upon not to avail any kind of leave on the date fixed for the Meeting. All the Members of the Committee have been requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting as scheduled.

Job fair held in Kohima

Kohima, June 28 (MExN): A job fair was conducted by the Directorate of Employment Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, in association with the National Career Service Centre for SC/ST, Ministry of Labour & Employment (DGE) Kohima, Nagaland, and Tusti Foundation Guwahati on June 26 at the Directorate of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Building, ITI complex, High School Road, Kohima.  Deltin Company from Goa came for recruitment wherein 45 job seekers participated in the interview. Seven job seekers were given on-the-spot offer letters and six candidates were shortlisted for the second round of interviews.

NCD AGBM on June 30

Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur’s (NCD) Annual General Body Meeting is scheduled on June 30, 11:00am onwards at the Council Office Conference Hall, located at Nyamo Lotha Road, Dimapur. In this connection, the NCD has informed all the councilors are to attend the meeting and share opinions. The businesses of the meeting include approval of annual audit report, approval of budget presentation for ensuing year; approval of drafted amendment of NCD’s constitution; and forthcoming celebration of platinum jubilee and other crucial agendas.

NNC condoles death of VP Kaiso 

Kohima, June 28 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) has expressed shock over the sudden demise of L Kaiso, Vice President, NNC on June 22 in Kohima. He was a dedicated leader who served the Naga Nation in various capacities including high profile posts such as Killo Kilonser (FGN), Kedallo (FGN), Secretary (NNC) and Vice President (NNC) till his last breath, informed a condolence noted from NNC President Adino Phizo. Late Kaisowas also a recipient of “Nagaland Star” for his sacrifices in this long struggle for nation, it said.  Accordingly, on NNC, President Adino conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family and relatives at this hour of grief. “May the Almighty God grant them solace and guidance. May the departed soul rest in peace,” it added. 

KSUD starts enrolment drive

Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): The office of the Khiamniungan Students’ Union Dimapur (KSUD) has started its enrolment and membership drive for the year 2023 starting from June 26. The drive will be undertaken till August 1 for proper students’ census, the KSUD informed students, parents and guardians within Dimapur district. In this connection, the union also appealed those residing as domestic helper’s or any family/students without the knowledge of the union to contact the Education & Statistical Secretary at 7630993208 for more information and to evade any difficulties in the near future.  The KSUD will not be held responsible for any incident as per the union’s resolution No.3 in the event of non-enrolment, it added. 

Selling and buying of pork restricted in Tening

Tening, June 28 (MExN): The Additional Deputy Commissioner and Administrator, Tening Town Council, T Lemlila Sangtam in a notification has restricted and prohibited buying and selling of pork in Tening Town area and adjoining villages till further order. The restriction has been imposed in view of the safety measure for health of the general public in Tening area. According to the State DIPR, the ADC has further notified that defaulters would penalised as per the required section of law and urged the general public to strictly comply with the order.

Peace rally at Seyochung today

Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): The Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) has extended solidarity to the Eastern Sumi Hoho for their decision to observe a peace rally at Seyochung on June 29. Media Cell WSH in a press release also appealed to all the churches in the Western Sumi area to have a special prayer to seek God's wisdom, direction and guidance to solve the present imbroglio in a best possible way. “May God give wisdom an unity to our leaders and people,” it added. 

Dy CMO greets

Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): The Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has greeted the Muslim community on the occasion of Id-Ul-Zuha. Patton said that Eid is an important festival because it signifies, sacrifice and obedience to God. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, the Dy CM conveyed heartiest Eid greetings and hope that it is celebrated with joy and happiness, stated the Media Cell of Dy CMO (Home).

Body found in Dimapur rly track

Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): On Wednesday at around 10:15 am, a written memo was received at GRPS from Station Manager, NF Railway Dimapur stating that one unidentified male (non-local) age around 50-60 yrs (approx.) was found lying dead at train track KM NO-260/3. Accordingly basing on the information, the duty party rushed to the PO site and conducted inquest over the dead body. The deceased was suspected to be a beggar and no foul play could be established, Dy Commissioner of Police (Crime)/ PRO, Dimapur stated in an update. The deceased was wearing white shirt and grey long pant. On completion of all legal formalities the dead body was shifted to District Hospital Dimapur Morgue for PM examination/identification. Claimant, relatives, friends of the deceased have been requested to contact the Officer-in-Charge, GRPS, Dimapur @ 7085055021.

NSCN/GPRN (Niki) terminates one 

Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): The Ministry of Kilo Affairs, NSCN/GPRN (Niki) has terminated one “Lumdamo Lotha of New Changsu Village, Leacy under Lotha region from active national service for violation of Yezabo of NSCN/GPRN.” MIP, NSCN/GPRN (Niki) in a press release stated that termination notice issued by the concerned department stated that “Lumdamo is a habitual defector and indulged in anti-national activities. This order comes into force with immediate effect.”
