
Nagaland Governor mourns
Kohima, June 13 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan has expressed sadness on the tragic demise of Vijay Rupani, former Chief Minister of Gujarat, along with the other precious lives lost in the unfortunate incident in Ahmedabad. In a press note the Governor said that Vijay Rupani was a respected and dedicated leader whose contributions to public service will be remembered with great honour. The loss of innocent lives alongside him adds to the gravity of this tragedy and the nation mourns each of them. The Governor expressed condolences to the bereaved families in this moment of grief and offered his prayers for strength and comfort to all those affected.
ADC Peren issues travel advisory
Peren, June 13 (MExN): Additional Deputy Commissioner Peren, D Robin, NCS has issued a travel advisory in view of the recent road blocked caused by a landslide along National Highway 129 A (Package 2) at upper old Jalukie. The general Public is hereby advised to take the diversion route via Bana ward, Peren Town to old Jalukie (old road from Peren Town to Jalukie). He further stated that until further notice, all the commuters are advised to exercise extreme caution while travelling along the said route.
Dy CM Patton mourns
Dimapur, June 13 (MExN): Nagaland Dy CM Home & Border Affairs, Y Patton has expressed shock on the crash of Air India Flight AI-171. The loss of lives, including passengers, crew, and individuals on the ground, has left an indelible mark of sorrow, he said and added, “My thoughts are with every grieving family affected by this heartbreaking disaster.” The Dy CM also mourned the demise of Vijay Rupani, former Chief Minister of Gujarat. “I had the privilege of knowing him closely—he was a man of integrity, clarity, and absolute dedication to public service, Patton said. “As we come to terms with the scale of this tragedy, I offer my deepest condolences to all who have lost loved ones. May they find strength in the support of the nation during this time of immense sorrow,” he added.
Newborn found dead in Dimapur Stadium
Dimapur, June 13 (MExN): A tragic case of child abandonment came to light on June 12 when a newborn baby boy was found dead at the Dimapur State Stadium. According to police reports, the Dimapur West Police Station received information about the abandoned infant at approximately 11:20 am. The Dimapur Women Police Station Duty Party rushed to the spot and discovered the baby wrapped in a green-and-white dog-print blanket inside a brown cardboard box. Dy Commissioner of Police (Crime) & PRO, Dimapur said that authorities conducted an on-site inquest in the presence of witnesses before shifting the body to Dimapur District Hospital’s morgue for post-mortem examination and identification.
