Submission of NEET-(UG) 2024 extended till June 25

Kohima, June 19 (MExN): The Directorate of Technical Education in continuation to the office notification of even number dated 5th June, 2024, informed that the last date for submission of NEET-(UG) 2024 registration form for Nagaland State reserved seats of MBBS, BDS, BVSC & AH, BAMS, BHMS, BASLP & BUMS has been extended till June 25. No further extension of dates will be made and no form will be accepted thereafter.

IAF Agniveervayu Intake 02/2025

Kohima, June 19 (MExN): The IAF notification for online registration for Agnipath Scheme Agniveervayu Intake 02/2025 has been issued and registrations will commence from July 8 at 11:00 am onward on https://aqnipathvayu.cdac.in Ibid online registrations would close on July 28 at 11:00 pm. Applications for both male and female candidates are invited.

NSCN (IM) informs

Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has informed all the surrounding villages under Dhansiripar sub-division from Manglumukh to Keyeto Village that due ‘to deplorable road conditions particularly during this monsoon season, plying of heavy vehicles from six wheelers and above is immediately banned in this stretch of route until the arrival of winter season.’ “This is in the interest of the public convenience & safety. Therefore, all the respective Villages under this jurisdiction are requested to cooperate in this matter,” Qhetoyi A Swu, Secretary to NSCN (IM) stated in a press release.

NSCN (IM) mourns

Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has mourned the demise of Capt Winson who was allegedly killed in the clash against KNA (B) at Angko Hills Range in Myanmar on June 15, 2024. The NSCN (IM) in a press release said that it is ‘proud of the brave Naga Army who had the courage to be in the frontline of the battle for the Naga nation.’ “The Naga nation salutes him and pays our hearty homage who laid down his life in the line of duty for the cause of the Naga nation,” it stated and conveyed condolences to the family. Meanwhile, in another press release it refuted media report that six other Naga Army personnel died along with Capt Winson. “This was proved to be unfounded. Only Capt Winson was martyred and no other Naga Army died in the battle with KNA (B),” it clarified.

Final phase training for ULB election held in Dimapur

DIMAPUR, JUNE 19 (MExN): The Dimapur District Administration conducted the 2nd and final phase training of ULB election for polling personnel at Dimapur Government College, Dimapur on June 19. The polling personnel trained included Presiding Officers, Polling Officers 1 and 2, and Grade IV staff. A total of 715 polling personnel attended the 2nd phase of training session. Hands on exercise for operation of ballot box were conducted for the polling personnel by the Master Trainers as well. Facilitation Centre for clearance of doubts of the polling personnel will be operational from June 21 to 24 at DC office, Dimapur, the DIPR report stated. 

Facilitation centre for polling personnel set up in Kohima

KOHIMA, JUNE 19 (MExN): In view of the ensuing ULB election, Deputy Commissioner, Kohima Kumar Ramnikant has informed all Polling Personnel that a Facilitation Centre, has been set up with Master Trainers, Evothung Ezung, Asst Professor, Kohima College, and Er Watikumzuk Walling, SDO CE PHED on June 21 from 11 AM till 3:30 PM at DC Office Kohima, Establishment Branch- Ground Floor. Also on June 24, the Master Trainers including Benjungdenla Yaden will be available at the Centre during the same hours. Further, all Polling Officials have been encouraged to avail the services of the Facilitation Centre to clear any doubts/ queries related to poll day/ procedures etc.

Coordination meeting for distribution of VIS held

KOHIMA, JUNE 19 (MExN): A coordination meeting was convened at the office of the Kohima Municipal Council on June 18 with sector officers and designated election officials for distribution of Voter Information Slips (VIS) for the upcoming election to Kohima Municipal Council. Returning Officer, T Lanusenla Longkumer, chaired the meeting and explained the modalities for distribution of Voter Information Slips (VIS) under respective sectors which is scheduled to start from June 19. She instructed the officials to verify the identity of each household member through valid ID proof. Election Observer & Secretary, Anthony Ngullie, and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kohima Rhosietho Nguori, addressed the meeting. The Sector Officers were asked to ensure transparent distribution of VIS so that every eligible voter is duly informed and also to enable active participation of voters in the upcoming elections.
