ADC Longleng bans dumping, illegal parking along town roads

LONGLENG, JUNE 2 (MExN): The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Longleng, Alongdhimen Jamir, NCS, has issued a directive prohibiting the dumping of construction and building materials, including stone, logs, timber, debris, and the parking of off-road vehicles along public roads and highways within Longleng Town. In a circular issued recently, the ADC warned that any such obstructions must be cleared by June 3. “In the event of refusal or failure to comply with this order, the authority will take necessary action as per the penal provision of the law,” the circular stated. All concerned individuals and entities have been asked to comply with the directive immediately.

BSF to auction off unsafe buildings in Khm on June 14

Kohima, June 2 (MExN): The 105 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) will conduct a public auction of old and unsafe buildings under its jurisdiction on June 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the battalion’s headquarters in Chedema, Kohima. According to an official release, the auction will be held on an “as is where is” basis in the presence of a Board of Officers. Interested bidders have been invited to attend the auction in person on the scheduled date and time. The BSF has informed participants to refer to the official BSF website, www.bsf.nic.in, for further information and updates.

DMC mass social work on June 5

DIMAPUR, JUNE 2 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) will organize a Mass Social Work across the city on June 5, 2025, in observance of World Environment Day. The drive, under this year’s global theme “End Plastic Pollution,” will be held from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and will cover all streets within DMC’s jurisdiction. The initiative is being conducted in collaboration with various civil society organizations and will be officially flagged off by Moatoshi Longkumer, Advisor for Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Excise, Government of Nagaland. To ensure widespread participation, all business establishments, shops, and stalls in the DMC area have been directed to remain closed during the drive. Shopkeepers have also been instructed to clean their shop fronts and surrounding areas, with particular attention to the removal of plastic and other non-biodegradable waste. Collected plastic waste should be deposited at the designated collection point at City Tower, the DMC stated in a notification issued by CEO Thungchanbemo Tungoe. The civic body has called on the public to actively take part in the drive for a cleaner and healthier environment.

Mass social work to be held across Noklak on June 5

NOKLAK, JUNE 2 (MExN): The District Administration of Noklak has announced that a mass social work will be carried out across the district on June 5 starting from 7:00 a.m., as part of pre-monsoon preparedness. According to the administration, the social work will involve cleaning of drainages, removal of debris, trimming of overgrown vegetation and trees to mitigate the risks of waterlogging, flooding, and the spread of water-borne diseases. Citizens of Noklak district have been urged to actively participate in the initiative to ensure better public hygiene and safety during the upcoming monsoon season. To ensure proper coordination, the Noklak Town Council has been tasked with monitoring the activities within Noklak town. All Village Development Boards and Village Councils have been directed to mobilize and carry out the social work in their respective villages, while all heads of departments and institutions will conduct the activity within their own jurisdictions.

Pfutsero to hold mass social work on June 5

PFUTSERO, JUNE 2 (MExN): Additional Deputy Commissioner of Pfutsero, Mhalo Humtsoe, NCS, has informed that a mass social work will be conducted on June 5, starting at 8:00 a.m., to commemorate World Environment Day. The event, themed “Ending Global Plastic Pollution,” aims to mobilize public participation in addressing environmental issues through community action. All residents of Pfutsero town have been urged to extend full cooperation to ensure the success of the program.

Niuland DPDB meeting on June 5

NIULAND, JUNE 2 (MExN): The monthly meeting of the Niuland District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) will be held on June 5 at 11 am in the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Niuland. Deputy Commissioner Sara S Jamir informed that all concerned members are requested to attend the meeting without fail.
