
NNC CEC meeting on March 28
Kohima, March 22 (MExN): A meeting of Central Executive Council (CEC), NNC has been convened at the Chedema Peace Camp, Chedema on March 28 at 10:00 a.m. The meeting will discuss on the important issues of CEC, NNC past resolutions and the coming 75th Naga Plebiscite Day which falls on May 16, 2025. Therefore, the NNC in its press release has requested all CEC, NNC and all the Regional Presidents of NNC to attend the meeting without fail. “No separate information will be served,” it added.
NSCN (IM) refutes Zhalipu’s statement
DIMAPUR, MARCH 22 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has refuted a statement allegedly made by the Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) General Secretary, Shikuto Zhalipu, claiming that it’s Chairman Q. Tuccu and Deputy Ato Kilonser General Atem had given their consent to combine the Framework Agreement and Agreed Position into a single agreement. The NSCN (IM) stated, “At no point in time have Chairman Q. Tuccu and Deputy Ato Kilonser General Atem given their consent to combine the Framework Agreement and Agreed Position into a single agreement, as suggested by Zhalipu’s statement. This is a blatant lie and constitutes a breach of faith and malicious damage to NSCN’s political standing, which has strongly advocated for a principle-based solution to the Naga political issue.” It clarified that while the NGBF met with General Atem on the issue on February 4, 2025, no official commitment was made. The NSCN (IM) further stated that the NGBF was informed that the matter would be discussed within the NSCN and a decision would be made if necessary.
NSCN-K (YA) release one
Dimapur, March 22 (MExN): The NSCN-K (YA) has granted honorary discharge to one M Methang Konyak Kilonser from Tanhai Village, under Konyak Region on account of personal health condition on March 4. “In his long and illustrious national-career he served the Naga Nation faithfully to the best of his knowledge and ability. The government and the Naga Nation honour his selfless contribution towards the national movement and wish him huge Success in aft- his future endeavours,” NSCN-K (YA) stated in its press release.
Works & Housing dept notifies
Kohima, March 22 (MExN): The Works & Housing Department (Works Branch) has issued an addendum dated March 18, 2025 stating that in continuation to the Department’s Notification of even No. dated 28.11.2023 and in pursuance of the minutes of the Cabinet meeting issued vide No.CAB-1/14/2023 Dated 25.02.2025, the term 'henceforth’ contained in the above Notification has been defined as hereunder: 'Only those National Highway Projects in the State sanctioned by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (Administrative Approval, Technical Approval and Financial Sanction to the estimate of the work) and implemented after 28.11.2023 shall come under the purview of the Notification Dt. 28.11.2023 and will be entitled to land compensation and damage compensation'. The Department has clarified that projects sanctioned prior to the issue of Notification Dated. 28.11.2023 will not come under the purview of the Notification as the policy of the State Government not to claim land compensation is clear, stated a DIPR report.
