ANFPSA convenes meeting

DIMAPUR, MAY 10 (MExN): The All Nagaland Fair Price Shop Association (ANFPSA) has informed all district unit FPS president/general secretary that a presidential council meeting of the association will be held on May 17 at Tourist Lodge Conference Hall, Dimapur from 11 AM onwards to discuss matter relating to its general conference, selection of new office bearer and All India FPS Dealers’ Federation National Convention to be held on July 25 at Delhi.
It has therefore requested all respective district unit to attend the meeting positively.

NSCN/GPRN (Niki) bans sale of illegal drugs, alcohol

DIMAPUR, MAY 10 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Niki), UT-1 has informed that it is banning the sale of illicit drugs and alcohol within its administrative jurisdiction with immediate effect. 

A MIP release informed that the authority shall strictly monitor those bootleggers with zero tolerance and also requested the general public to extend full co-operation in curbing the menace which is destroying the society. Stern action will be initiated against the defaulters, as per the Azah of the government, it added. 

NSCN (IM) bereaved over demise of Brig (retd) N Henito

DIMAPUR, MAY 10 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has expressed sadness over the unfortunate demise of Brig. (Retd.) N. Henito, MSM, Steering Executive Member, on May 9 after prolonged illness. 

Late Henito, who hailed from Alaphumi village under Sumi region, joined national service in the year 1994. For nearly 30 years he contributed his best for the freedom struggle of the Naga nation and stood firm for the Naga cause with unwavering spirit till his last breath, an MIP release stated.

Throughout his service he proved himself as a true Naga patriot. For his sacrifice and dedication his name will be found recorded in the pages of Naga history, it added. At the same time, the NSCN (IM) expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members with prayer that the Almighty God give them strength and comfort to bear the loss.



Assam Rifles apprehended a Myanmarese drug peddler smuggling sunflower drug into India at Longwa, Mon District, Nagaland on May 9. The peddler was apprehended during search carried by Assam Rifles at Indo-Myanmar check post at Longwa.
