Pork, beef at Rs 280 per kg in Kohima

Kohima, May 7 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) informed that the rate of Pork & Beef was fixed by KMC vide Order No. KMC/MARK-01/20- 21/363 dated the 13th December 2021, has not been revised and it stands at Rs. 280 per kg for both pork and beef. Anyone selling above the prescribed rate will be penalized and all goods will be seized, said a circular issued by KMC administrator T. Lanusenla Longkumer. Meeting of committee on govt assurances on May 19

DIMAPUR, MAY 7 (MExN): Chairman, Committee on Government Assurances, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, has convened an Oral Evidence Meeting of the Committee with the Departmental Representatives of School Education, Nagaland Public Works, Home, Civil Administrative Works, Justice & Law, Fire & Emergency Services, Higher & Technical Education, Health & Family Welfare, Fisheries & Aquatic Resources & Public Health Engineering on May 19 at 11:00 am at the Assembly Committee Room. All members of the Committee on Government Assurances have been requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting.

Longleng DPDB discusses various issues

LONGLENG, MAY 7 (MExN): The monthly Longleng District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB Longleng, Dharam Raj, IAS on May 6. The meeting began with the welcome address by the Deputy Commissioner which was followed by introduction of new members and review of last meeting minutes. The house deliberated on demolishing of the abandoned building of Government High School Nyengching, Longleng, next to ongoing construction of new the District Hospital Longleng, as it was hampering the work in progress.  Y Angong Buchem, AHO and Talimeren, DHO, Horticulture Department presented the departmental activities to the house. The Department of Evaluation was entrusted to present the departmental activities in the next meeting.

Niuland DPDB meeting on May 11 

NIULAND, MAY 7 (MExN): The DPDB meeting of Niuland District for the month of May 2023 is scheduled on May 11, Thursday at 11:00 am at the DC Conference Hall, Niuland. A press release from the Niuland DC, Sara S Jamir informed all members to attend the meeting positively. 
 



The IGNOU Study Centre-2001 Modern College, Kohima held its induction programme at the College auditorium, Kohima. The fresh learners enrolled for January 2023 sessions attended the programme. Limaakum Lemtur, Assistant Executive IGNOU Regional Centre- 20 Kohima spoke at the programme as the resource person.


The Department of Economics, Salt Christian College, Dimapur organized a debate competition on the topic ‘Globalization and its impact on the Indian economy’ on May 5. The event was chaired by Thungdemo Y Patton, Asst professor, Department of Economics SSC and the panel of judges included Tiatiala, Department of Economics SSC and PK Deb, Department of Economics SSC. The best debater of the event was awarded to Karyongdang Jamir (for the motion) and Niuka Wotsa (against the motion).
